After 1042 hours of play I’ve done my Legendary: Rodgort!
It’s not the weapon I want in the first place but the cost of the precursor (the Colossus) and all the failure at the MF made me change my mind toward something more affordable but I’m however really happy….poor but happy

Next step forge the Firebringer as main hand :P

Finished predator the other day

I finished my bifrost

After 500 try in the Forge mystic i got my precursor and putted all inside

Finally after 1000 hours of game

Just got my precurser today:D
I was hesitant on what bow I wanted to get so I just bought a mix of each type and tossed them into the forge, with no luck. Then I tryed 16 exotics and half way through BAM
Got the lover.
So happy

Been feeding the forge – happy to do my part to rid the economy of excess rares. So far, have gotten three imryldyeen, two memory of the sky, two silence, one deathwish, and one bramblethorne…but still no precursor.

on another note. Gift of Mastery left for my Rodgort! missing like.. 194 skillpoints, lol. what’s the best way to get ‘em?? i’m thinking either nonstop dungeon and WvW with my main Guard, or map complete and power (craft) level my necro.

Have you completed the new scavanger hunt yet? That one grants you 5 skill points when you complete it. Also, fractal is a great way to get them. fractals is great XP aswell as the fractal relics you can BUY skill points from one of the golems

not yet actually, but is hould be able to get that done fast thanks for the headsup. and i have thought about fractals. i have been meaning to get up to lvl 10 but might as well work my way up, and get the XP as well as trade for SPs.

I’m still at a far too low level to care about Legendary Weapons, but I am slowly but surely on my to get The Flameseeker Prophecies. I try to save as many materials that I think I might need and I am trying to get both my Tailoring and Weaponsmithing Crafting Skills up to max so I don’t have to care about levelling my craft when I start grinding for materials. Along the Flameseeker, I want to eventually get my hands on Infinite Light. It is not a Legendary, but an Exotic (which means the stats are no different). It has its own effect which I think matches the Legendary Shield and also matches my Guardian. If I manage to get The Flameseeker Prophecies, then I might try and get the other Legendaries as well, but only maybe, as it will be extremely time cunsuming and I might not end up using the others.

Thats a good plan! try to get map completion on the way to 80 aswell. I did not do that, so when i was 80 i had to run around in low level zones completing them.. It was a pain. Also, flameseeker and infinite light has to be my two favourite weapons in this game. I went for the dagger Incinerator, but still.. if i could use flameseeker or infinte light, i would have gotten them instead!

I went for incinerator myself and i used 7 months… Thats simply because i took very slow as you are going to do. I played WvW (Even though i had 500 badges) and were just chillaxing with my guildies

Finally got my Howler yesterday =)

I got lucky with a precursor drop and bought Howl during the Karka event.

Update: got dusk after throwing in about 12 lvl 80 exotic GS in the forge. I was sitting on the gifts for about a month. Got my twilight.

I have all gifts, just no precursor, gave up on getting that months ago… Not very amused how my hard work doesn’t pay off in my efforts at making a legendary. Gambling for items is a crock of doodoo

i have all gifts except kitten dusk, ive spent 300g on mystic toilet and still nothing now im at 65 silver and depressed.

This is a bit of a long story about my rocky journey toward Sunrise, read it if you’re interested =)

It started getting interesting around the time I posted this comment (below) here a couple of months ago.

It’s taking me quite a while to craft mine, but I’m finally nearing the milestone of having everything except the precursor, and of course now I’m starting to feel the itch to play the forge with exotics. I know this is not a good idea, but having just spent months on the gifts, it’s really a grueling thought to spend double that time earning enough gold to buy Dawn on the TP. I am not the type to grind CoF repeatedly, though I do a lot of dungeons, including CoF, at my leisure.

I almost logged in and bought a bunch of exotics to throw in this morning before work, but I restrained myself. I dread what I may do when I get home.

So please: Dissuade me! Dissuade me!

Unfortunately, I made a not great decision and went ahead with gambling exotics in the forge. I lost all my gold.

A few weeks later, I was a little distressed about how long it was taking to make the money back, and I made another not great decision, I started selling my saved T6 materials and lodestones to fund more forge attempts at Dawn.

Long story short, I lost most or all of my saved ingredients and did not get Dawn. I love the game, so I didn’t rage quit or anything, but I gave up on getting Sunrise at that point.

Anyway, fast forward to one week ago from today, I had made a bit of money back, between 150 and 200 gold, and had no intention of starting to buy back my T6 stuff or play the forge for more shots at the precursor. For those who haven’t seen it, the guy got like seven precursors in a week by throwing in tons of rares.

Right about now, you’re thinking ’Don’t do it, Facepunch! It’s a trick from the devil!"

Well, the devil got me again. I spent almost all of my replenished bank account on rares, but I finally got Dawn! I was very happy of course, but now I was in the exact opposite side of the boat that I had been in a couple months prior. Now I had the precursor and zero mats or lodestones.

I had very little gold, but I did have Dawn, so I made a plan that was pretty much entirely based on getting lucky a couple more times in the forge and put it into action.

I betrayed my sweet new precursor friend and sold her to the highest bidder (GASP!)

I used part of that money to buy rare daggers, hammers and staves. I got Spark the next day, after about 50g worth of daggers. I sold it, bought back Dawn, and allotted a chunk of my now pretty sizeable bank account to keep trying hammers and staves. After several days of trying, hundreds of each weapon type later, I got The Colossus yesterday. That put me at enough gold to buy back literally all of the materials I needed for Sunrise. So I did! And now I have almost everything I need!

After work today, I’m going to go home, do two Ascalonian Catacombs runs for the last of my tokens, and then I’m finally forging Sunrise!

I don’t know what the moral of my story is for those of you still on your journey, but I wish you all luck (and perhaps a bit of misfortune, just so that you can recover and have a roller coaster ride of a story to tell). I’ll post a screenshot of my warrior with her first legendary later tonight! Thanks for reading!

I got the help of some guildies and friends, and finally yesterday I finished paying back all my debts. I’m free!!!!!

Just thinking back about all those months of hard work makes me feel sick… that was definitely the worst experience I ever had in a videogame.

I’m obviously not going for a second legendary, and if somebody wants my advice… just don’t do it…

Going for: Sunrise
Have: Gift of fortune, Gift of mastery
Missing: Precursor, weapon-specific gift

I completed my first legendary on May 1st (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Post-YOUR-legendary-progress/1772552).

Fairly soon after I decided to go for Sunrise for one of my other characters, and I decided I would not stress out about it but treat it as a long-term goal, getting the general gifts done first (in case i changed my mind) while doing some slow-burn gambling on the forge (16 crafted rares a day plus any four random weapons gotten from the world boss chests).

I’ve managed to get Dusk twice, which has made the road toward Sunrise a fairly pleasant one, but I’m still aiming to get Dawn from the forge itself, saving the rest of the gold for the weapon specific gift and for fun stuff (My asura engineer sports T3 cultural armor now).

For my first legendary I did the T6 mat gifts last, but since I did that part almost first this time I get to save up for a possible third legendary down the line, which gives me a reason to continue “farming” for T6 mats, and hopefully make the third time around go just a little bit quicker.

Still don’t see myself getting that precurser though! :P

Was going for foefire’s essence, but decided go big or go home, so I sold all my charged lodestones and orichalcum greatsword blades, and I got 100 gold, about an hour later I threw it all into the mystic toilet for a chance for dusk (goin for twilight now).

Long story short the toilet did its job and im broke now :[

20 gold away from buying dusk and finishing twilight

Have almost everything and the gold to buy the rest but 110.k karma and 123 Skillpoints.

Still cannot decide if Bifrost or Meteorlogicus first…

Going for bifrost have everything but precursor. Maybe one day. put 100 gold of exotics in tonight with no luck

Hello guys.I working for my inci and for now i get gift of mastery clovers and maybe 1/4 my t6 mats.I was trying get spark from mystic toilet and i spend about 70 g maybe and at my last try i put 3 dagger and mystic stone, get DAWN.Im so happy at this moment and im closer to my legendary!

I’m going for meteorlogicus for my ele.
I have my 77 mystic clovers, the gift of battle, 99% world complete (kaineng needs to be green again in WvW), and the rest of the gift of mastery I’m not worrried about.
I got a lot of T6 mats from the clovers but I’m poor again so it’ll be a while.
At lteast the precursors not too expensive.

My biggest worry is buying the charged lodestones, since its like 280 gold for the stack of 100 I’d need..

So I’m back in this thread, and I have finally decided what my second Legendary will be = Howler. I just put an order on Howl. So:

1.Howler
2.Gift of Mastery and soon Precursor
3.I’m working on Gift of Howler, after that I’ll get T6 mats for Fortune (I have 250 ectos, 77 Clovers and 2 T6 mats stacks).
4.Like I said, I have finally come to a conclusion what Lege I want next. When I finished my first Lege, I decided to go for an other one, and that’s almost exactly 5 months ago. I still have some doubts, knowing that Legendary Trinkets are coming along with new Lege weapons, but we don’t know when, so… this really is a hard decision.

Going for sunrise. I have the gift of battle, gift of metal, gift of ascalon, gift of magic, I have all my clovers and the precursor, dawn. My problems lies with how difficult it is to get charged lodestones. At almost 3 g a pop they are too expensive for 100. I also need 3 poi from EB for map completion. My pace has slowed since I found a Fractal GS.They seem to be more prestigious then legendaries but I think I will still go for my sunrise. Just not in a hurry ATM.

bout 2 weeks ago got Dusk from a mystic forge daily, after 3 tries with exotic greatswords in my sleep deprived state I realised I got it, for a moment I couldn’t quite put my finger on how lucky I was.

Ever since I’ve been farming CoF p1, and recently gave in and just put some money into the game to get the rest of the t6 mats, which I was having an incredibly hard time with, because orr is not what it used to be.

Crafted Twilight last night xD had I not been lazy with the option to put money into the game I was looking at another 2-3 weeks of CoF p1, and uni starts in a week for me.

Just got my 250 Silver Doubloons, and I still need a lot of Molten Lodestones. The really hard part (precursor, doubloons, lodestones) is almost over.

Never wanted a Legendary, but I got the precursor off a drop and decided “hey, if I don’t do this I will regret it.”

Update: I am soo close I can almost lick it! All I need now are some T6 mats and ectos! I calculated that if I buy everything off the TP, I am only ~90gold away from finishing.

I finished my Moot in…March, I believe. I have been working on Sunrise since May very halfheartedly, until I got incredibly lucky last Friday and got Dawn out of a the daily Mystic Forger trash attempts. So, now I’m going full steam.
Gift of Master – Need 52 shards
Gift of Fortune – Need 200 ectos and about half my t6 mats
Gift of Sunrise – Need 85 lodestones, and a smattering of the other mats, but I finished Gift of Metal.
Dawn – DONE.

I did some math, and if I continue gathering Ori and salvaging for ectos, I only need about 550g. CoF, CoF!
Aiming to finish this one by the end of August. After that, I might take a break before starting Bifrost.

I have everything for twilight except Dusk. What a pain to obtain all gifts, now mf toilet is playing games with my hearth. Nah … mf toilet … its crap that you need to use this for precursor or give some kitten 670g ^^ … fail

I’m going for twilight of course, i need bunch of t6 mats for gift of magic (see attachment) and icy runestons, but i have a couple stack of bag of coins and some lodestone and core worth on 50-60g that i’m saving for runestones. I need just those t6 mats, can’t wait anymore.
