So has It been decided yet? Whats better to throw in the forge, rares or exotics? How did you guys do it?

rares, exotics just waste your money and if you get exotics back sell them don’t put them back in your better off just spending the money on more rares.

Definitely rares. I threw rares into the forge and got my precursor, exotics are best sold for a nice profit.

So crafting rares? Do things like sigils and “named” rares make a difference? IE “travellers torch of the Orian”, as opposed to just “torch”.

No difference at all. A rare is a rare and an exotic is an exotic. I know that sounds silly but it has been confirmed that all items of the same rarity are treated the same by the MF.

You’re better off selling exotics, especially the ones with higher value, and buying more of the cheapest rares with the profit.

Don’t! The mystic stone counts as a “rare” not as the fourth rare of the same kind. Once I put 3 staves and a mystic forge stone and I got back a warhorn!

Lawl. An exo costs 4-6 times the price of a rare. Now if you use rares you first need the “luck” to get an exotic out of the attempt. After this huge portion of luck, you still need the “luck” that the exotic is the precursor.
Now take exotics for only 4-6 times the price and only need the luck to get the precursor.
Using the MF properly with exotics, you can even get most of your gold back. I wont tell how, cause I cba, but honesgtly everybody should be able to figure this out.

My pearl of wisdom, don’t use the MF. I just sold everything and saved all my cash and bought Dawn instead of hoping i got lucky with the MF and end up with nothing. Imo it’s much worse if you throw 400-500g into the MF and get nothing than it is to just spend a month mindlessly grinding and just buying it.

I was buying the cheapest level 76 and up rare weapons I could find and threw them in the forge. I know it’s random what I might get back but I usually got enough exotics that my loss was minimal since every flush I only had 80 silver invested and knew I would get at least an 80 rare back worth 25 silver. If the rare I got back was worth more than 30 silver I sell it and sold all exotics. Think I about broke even doing this got legend today off 3 tridents and a mace.

I puted nearly 800g in mystic forge trying make dusk or colossus. Result? 0 precursors:( I used exotics and rares to craft.
