Hello!
So I’m trying to discover all the chef recipes as I go along, (and by discover I mean, cheat by looking at the GW2 Wiki), but I seem to be having problems with some recipes.
The culprits are Pasta Noodles Bowl of Poultry Stock and Bowl of Red Meat Stock. All of these have Jug of Water as one of their ingredients. What happens is, I put all the ingredients needed into the discovery panel, but when I finally put in the water, it says that it’s not a valid recipe. I’m 100% sure I have all the right ingredients and the right amounts and that I’m a high enough skill level to make them (at least according to the Wiki). Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but this is really irritating!
Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone been able to fix it?
Thanks!

Try putting the items in different order. I don’t recall where I heard this and have not verified myself.

Make sure they’re actually discovery recipes, and not ones learned from levelling up.

None of those are “discovery” recipes. You have them by default.
To save you further heartache – you also get all the spices recipes by default, and many (all? don’t remember) the cooking component recipes (blueberry pie filling, wet and dry baker’s mixes, frosting, and so on).
When in doubt, check your known recipes first. Then check the level of the recipe you’re trying to make. That’ll solve most of your cooking discovery problems.
