I’m really sorry if this has been mentioned before, but: I literally just got a Grenth Backpiece Recipe from a Wintersday Present!!! Didn’t think it was still possible, but here’s my question

I’m wondering whether I should sell now at 6g or wait it out and see a possible raise in price after a few months… Will this be beneficial as you can no longer get the Grenth Hood in the Gem Store?
Will this turn out like the Dragon Jade Weapon Skins where the prices raised to 30-100g and the Dragon Coffers raised?

I definitely won’t be using it as I’m completely avoiding Crafting, so getting to lvl 500 and getting the materials in the recipe would be like going for a Legendary for me as I’d be walking blindly through Crafting

Thanks!!!

Are you sure you got a Hood recipe, not a backpiece? The backpiece one goes for a few gold, and could go up later although all the presents on the TP will still have a shot at dropping it. I don’t think the Hood can be crafted.

Oh, never knew it was a back piece… Well, that just about shows my Crafting Experience… Thanks for saying ;D

I bought one earlier for 3+ gold. Then one dropped and I sold it for 6+ gold. Maybe it’s a good time to sell.

Considering it was a drop with Zero cost I would just hang on to it. These holiday event items always seem to gain value over time because there is such a limited number of them.

That sort of item will always be popular with people who like the evil/ugly look.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

Just saying from a different perspective:

Things like these (Recipes, Skins, etc.) will always increase in value over time as less and less are in circulation…

That said, you have to look at The increase in worth of these types of items vs. The amount of time it takes to appreciate to said worth.

Ultimately, the amount they go up in value isn’t (usually) better than if you play the TP regularly. When you add in that they won’t go up in value indefinitely, it is usually best to sell things like this sooner than later.

If you don’t play the TP regularly, it could be nice to hold onto them as a low-risk investment… But don’t expect to make a fortune on them (vs regular TP players)

As Shadow of Grenth just appeared in the most demanded list on the TP (through 1c buy offers), i would suggest to hang onto it. The items being listed there recently, seem to have gained in value quite alot.

I’d hang onto it for now and sell in about 6 – 8 months. I fully expect the recipes to be available again next Wintersday so be sure to sell before then.

Also keep in mind that as long as there are supplies of Wintersday Gifts on the TP (and in the banks of players), there will be a slow, but constant stream of new recipes being added to the TP, so this is not really a market you can corner. The price will go up (till next Wintersday), but don’t expect it to go stratospheric like the Greatsaw and other old Halloween skins. This will be more like the Dragon’s Jade skins where the odd skin is still getting added to the game via Dragon Coffers.
