Quaggan Ascended Backpack
Well if you have an infused koss of koos and you xmute it should the infusion transfer? it adds the +5 agoney resist to the stats not the name to i think if you have one already infused itll go with the stats.

Since you transmuted it, you can’t infuse it anymore, sadly. You would have to get a new Koss on Koss, infuse that, then transmute the quaggan backpack onto there.
Actually I think you can still infuse it as the base item (the item that gives you the stats) is still the Koss.
Sadly it will surely result in the infused version with the skin of the infused Koss.
If you upgrade an ascended gear in the MF the infusion in the infusion slot is lost as it doesn’t actually change your item, it just gives you a new item, deleting the ones you put in the MF.
You can still (probably) do another backpack, upgrade it in the MF and THEN usa a transmutation stone on it. Check if you can transmute backpacks before doing it, though.
can say for sure that quagan skin will not transfer, because you put an item into MF, add components and get completely different item as a result, this can be checked by the fact, that it will ask you whether you want to soulbind it or not.

Nope. Once you transmute any item, it is no longer considered that item for the mystic forge, even if the stats or name is the same. Transmuting a Precursor, for example. Even if it retains the name of the precursor, it can no longer be used to create the legendary.
Would I be right in thinking that ANET is punishing people for using transmutation stones ?
Which seems like a very poor business decision.

Of course, I agree, because the name is related to the skin, I was talking about the stats.
The mystic forge check for the “core” part of the item, the stats. I presume no one has tried to transmute a precursor stats onto a different skin to see if you can still make a legendary weapon but there is propably a similar trial to do.
Like the OP trying to put his back into the MF and see if he can still select the items needed to put the infusion on it.
