So I’m almost there. 110 skillpoints to go and I can buy the last part I need for the legendary.

My question is: When you create the legendary, will you get a skin unlock pop-up? Or do I need to manually press unlock skin and thereby making it account bound? Reason I ask is, I don’t care much for switching stats on the fly and I already have ascended weapons for the leg I am making so I’m not losing stats either. If the skin unlocks as soon as you create it, it means you get the skin and are then able to sell the weapon. Which is what I intend to do if it is possible. So is it?

Not possible. You have to account bind or destroy it in order to unlock the skin.

This ^ It’d be quite too easy otherwise, if everyone could craft then sell the Legendary keeping the skin, which is the only really unique/attracting thing about Legens

I thought for most people being able to change stats was also very appealing. Giving it up so that you can sell it seems fair to me. But hey ill just give my other ascended weapons to another character instead. Saves money too.

Most builds use different sigils. If you change your stats for a new build, you have to buy a new sigil for your legendary. Thats why many people dont use this feature.

Just a quick rundown of how making a legendary goes:
You craft the legendary (you get the precursor skin unlocked in your wardrobe), you now how the unbound item in your inventory

• you can sell it on the TP, but you won’t get it’s skin unlocked
• you can ‘unlock skin’ and it will unlock the skin in your wardrobe and account-bind the legendary
• you can ‘equip’ and it will unlock the skin in your wardrobe and account-bind the legendary. You are still able to unequip, move it to another character, and equip it there.

there won’t be a popup; you have to manually unlock the skin either by ‘unlock’ or ‘equip’
skins only unlock as soon as you remove the item from the market, either by destroying it in the forge or by salvaging it or by equipping it. (so when you make eternity, that unlocks sunrise and twilight, which is why eternity is so cheap on the TP)

If you forge eternity you get both sunrise and twilight, while being able to sell eternity. Ive seen people make deals with friends where they would give one person both twilight and sunrise, he would forge it so he got both skins, then the other friend would get eternity. But thats about the only way you could get a legendary skin while being able to still sell it.

when you equip eternity, you unlock the following skins in your wardrobe: eternity, sunrise, twilight, dawn, dusk.
So if you are making eternity, it would be very generous to give sunrise and twilight to a friend, he crafts it, he gives you back eternity. he would then have sunrise, twilight, dawn, and dusk unlocked.
that’s not a bad idea!

The sigil problem make that difficult. A lot of ppl like to have several weapon with different sigil (much more than ppl that want different stats). So you are stuck between two choice.
1) Either you have your legendary and other weapons (exotic or ascended) with different sigils and now you don’t always use your legendary skin which can suck.

2) Or you have a couple of weapons with different sigil and all with the legendary skin put on them. But now, try to find the right now quickly when they all look the same in your inventory.
