I’m getting up into the mid 300 range and find that some of the items I craft do not appear to be soul bound on use, while others are.

Is there some method to this?

Initially I though all the better jewelry was soul bound when used but have crafted some level 45-50 rings and earrings that are not.

It wold be great if I could pass all the stuff I craft between my various characters, but if not, that’s fine also.

Just curious why all crafted jewelry is not treat the same way?

umm that is very intrusting i have crafted to 400 in September i have not crafted any jewlery that was emediatly soul bound to the charater that made it. but if your trying to get to 400 from the 350-400 that slow process here is a tip
1 salvage your rings if you dont need it or sell it on TP if its worth more than merchant
2: talk to the apprentace jewlery maker and buy recipies like exquisit jewls. for karma
3: farm minning nodes youll get the orr you need and maybe some gemstones.

From my experience, Fine (blue) jewelry is never soulbound and can be freely worn and then sold at a later date, provided that you never replace the upgrade in the jewelry.

Masterwork (green) jewelry is soulbound on equip, so if you craft it with the intention to sell it, you must never equip it on your own characters.

I haven’t started wearing Rare jewelry yet, but I imagine it follows the same rules as Masterwork jewelry.

Zaxares is right. Blue and white is never soulbound, green, yellow and orange will be soulbound when you equip. This applies to almost all items, armor, weapon, trinkets, etc. One exception is the Ancient Karka Shell, which is account bound but not soulbound even after you equip it.
