As the tittle said, the top tier of Jeweling gear can now be aqquired even during the leveling period, by just making sure you do your daylly and monlthly. Nobody will buy my crafted stuff now, and in a few months, nobody will bother with any exotics.

We have no reason to level Jeweling anymore, since Ascended stuff are so much better and so much easier to aquire. All they have to do is focus on their dayllies for half a month, and voila! They’ll never have to even look again to exotic rings and amulet, let alone the crafted ones!

10 easy levels in under 30 mins? I’ll take that than making money with the craft any day personally.

However you sort of countered your own argument. Yes Ascended is better than Exotic, however it will still take someone nearly a full month to get the necklace and even shorter for a ring. In that time, people will still want to have something good while they work towards the goal, therefore Exotic is still relevant. Not to mention the person will make their money back before they even get their Ascended version easily.

All crafting disciplines are only useful for leveling your character and to make Rares to break into ectos it’s sad but its the reality.

Unless you are a jeweler, since our rares require Ecto for some reason whereas all other professions do not. This makes producing rares as a jc incredibly unprofitable.

No. It takes 1-2 hours a day for half a month.
Just focus/grind your daylly PVE and PVP each day.
Then put a little effort to finish what’s left of the monthly on weekends, and Voila. You get 2 Laurels each day (62 a month) plus 20 for the monthlies (62+20=82), and there you are! In a signle month you releaved your self from looking on any trinket bellow ascended! Since trinket are stupid expensive to make (even rares need ecto), from my point of vew, it’s even harder to get an exotic trinket than an ascended one!

As you said, now jeweling is for the 5% who is making alts, and from them the 5% who bother to spend money on TP to dress them! Do the math: (5/100)*(5/100)=0.25% of people will buy the crafted junk of all the game’s Jewelers…

There’s no Tough/Pow/Pre or Heal/Pow/Tough ascended sets… so there’s still a slight use for JC.

With a reasonable amount of gold in the bank, legendary, and my mains T3 done, I still wear masterwork jewelry on most of my chars. I will still buy masterwork, and occasionally, rare jewelry for chars because with 18 char slots [about 5 active alts] its going to take a lot more than a month to equip them all with ascended.

What might be done for is exotic jewelry ~ its just too expensive to justify on alts…although I could afford it…but if the price of ectos adjusts, I’m sure exotics will sell again.

All the crafting is pretty much useless unless you have cooking and are making omni bars for buffs. or have a special recipe from a dungeon drop.

You cannot make enough money doing the crafts unless you get the recipe drops.

No just did it to check daily pvp doesn’t award any, thus no reason to go there.

OP, you are partially correct. Yes, ascended gear will EVENTUALLY make exotics useless, however not everyone is at that point yet. For someone just starting out(aka hitting 80), they are going to likely pickup greens/yellows first until they figure out what build they like. Then they might or might not pickup exotics while waiting for that 30 days to get an amulet. Even then, we only have rings and amulets atm; so until we get the rest, people will still need exotics.

Sure, at some point months down the road hardly anyone will need exotics, but this can be said for just about ANY MMO: players reach a plateau in terms of gear, where the only way forward is up(alts aside).

All crafting disciplines except cooking (and now jewelcrafting) have high, consistent profits if you know where to look. There is still money to be made jewelcrafting, really, it’s just less due to decreased demand and increased ori prices. You can still make 10%+ ROI for exotic jewels if you know what you’re doing

Dont get too disheartened – when ascended Weapons and Armour get introduced there will be uproar from all the crafters of those diciplines how its ‘unfair’ that no-one will buy their crafted crap anymore.

He clearly made a typo. What he meant is that the monthly req pvp of some sort. If I recall, it is WvW.

No he did not make a typo. He thinks/thought that daily PvP and monthly PvP will reward you with laurels. But that’s not true.
