Not one component required to make the bow uses Iron Ore. I was curious why I salvage
ore from a wooden item? Do you receive Ore from cloth armor?

It seems like the materials you get from salvaging an item only depends on its type (weapon, armor or salvage item) and its level. You use fine crafting materials to craft armor and weapons, but you won’t get any by salvaging, just like you will never get a leather piece from salvaging a bow, but instead an ore of the corresponding tier.

That is a bug, you should always get wood from bows, staves, sceptres, foci (and guns?).

Yeah I noticed this yesterday as well; was getting iron back from making bows, even though not a single peice of iron is in them.
