There are players out there that consider any form of obtaining wealth (with the notable exception of those they themselves use) as exploits.

There are players who thought the boon duration build was an exploit.

People have been doing this since day one, over a year and a half now. If ANet thought this was an exploit they would have punished people for it and changed the rules. They have been fast in the past to do so. Since they haven’t, then the people who made the game and set the rules don’t agree with you.

They have been fast in the past to do so. Since they haven’t, then the people who made the game and set the rules don’t agree with you.

The definition of exploit is: “make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource).”

I truly believe people have been making full use and deriving benefits from this resource.

‘exploit’ is a matter of scale.
mine rich ori node on 1 character = great!
mine rich ori node on 5 characters = great!
mine rich ori node on 5 characters on 3 servers = knows what’s up but doesn’t want to exploit
mine rich ori node on 20 characters on 24 servers = exploit
it goes from feature to exploit when you’re doing it 500 times more than the average player. that’s why cof campers weren’t exploiting – they were just doing a dungeon 50 times a day while most people did it once or twice.

I looked it up since you said that. My guess is he is not an English speaker or is unaware that a word can have more than one meaning/definition.

There is of course the permanent rich platinum node near the golem MK II event.

As for definitions, yeah, what Astral Projections said. Definition 2 is what people generally mean when they use the word exploit in this sense. Actually, they are using exploit as a noun derived from definition 2.
