Hi folks,
Just a quick question regarding getting ingredients for crafting runes..

My thief is lvl 53 and about 150 in leatherworking.. I’d like to craft some runes but I have never come across the required lodestones, essences and shards..

Ok how the hell do I get these?? And are all the rune recipes discoveries because I haven’t got a single one in production?

they’re quite rare, if youw ant you’re better of buying them in TP. But if you’re doing that, you’re better off buying the rune itself :|

you get them from… mobs? o.o You generally get the shard/sliver/core/lodestone from the mob that shares a similar type-ish with that like molten lodestone you get from ember or destroyer lodestone from destroyer mobs, corrupted lodestone from risen (iirc), etc.

Ok thanks.. These aint overworld mobs then, but dungeon mobs??

afaik openworld mobs. There are some dungeons that drop specific lodestones you can get in the chests after killing the boss. I’m not sure for others but TA gives you Onyx core/lodestone. You can check the gw2guru legendary weapon guide for those. (but they’re only for core/lodestone, idk honestly where you can get shards/slivers).

Honor of the Waves gives Glacial Cores. Most of the rare crafting ingredients I’ve gotten is from opening loot bags.

I just find it bizarre that at level 55 I haven’t seen a single one.. How the hell am I supposed to craft some gear beyond the obvious buying components..

They’re uncommon drops. You get them either from mobs directly or from bags that the mobs drop. It’s a little abnormal that you haven’t gotten any, but I wouldn’t say bizarre. Also, the runes aren’t that big of a deal. It’s usually easier just to buy them off the TP.
