I kept my helmet, that I got since the start of the game. (I’m a Thief)
A while ago I came a little into the transmute thing, where you can change the display of your helmet, but keep the same stats.
I bought a new mask at the AH, which can hold runes. Minor rune of the eagle, to be exact.
When I tried to transmute it, everything worked, expect the rune “buff”.
Is there a way to apply, or craft, a helmet with runes, so i can combine them, and upgrade my helmet troughout the came, because I really love the hood rather than these masks..

I think you have to chose the new stats (from the higher lvl item first before the option comes to chose, which rune you would like to have at your transmuted item.
If you chose the stats of the starter item, you cant apply a rune because its too low lvl.

Or try to choose the higher lvl item first, then the starter item.

For some reason, when I transmuted my item, the rune buff came eventhough it wasn’t displayed…

It’s because one of the items has no upgrade slot.
