I am going for a legendary, and of course am an in serious need of ectos. My thoughts on doing this is crafting rares and just salvaging them, by farming some of the t5 materials rather than buy. Now the whole snowflake fiasco has gotten me a little shaky, I mean so many got banned over doing the same thing, salvaging rares and all that. I mean is this some kinda bannable offense now or what? Just curious of the consensus before I do this.

No you will be ok. Just if they release a new patch and content look for things that are out of the ordinary or a better metric is actually if you can make money at it.
Be weary for new recipes ect that return more than what you normally receive.
If you do salvage say a boot you get some leather and possible ecto. So if you get leather +something + a lot more ecto then something is wrong and stop.
And report it.

It can be hard to tell – I am not a hardcore crafter but that is what I go by.

If what you wanted to do was bannable it would have been done a long time ago.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t normally salvage anything I get except drops. I will definitely keep an eye out for any new recipes!
