I really dont know what the deal is with back items and why they cant be salvaged.
They are the only slot item that cannot be salvaged. Why?

Its pretty unnoying because it is inconsistent and completely unnecessary to restrict this.

A simple change for next patch – make it so that back items (non ascended) can be salvaged by returning either:
1) a material reflective of the category of the class, ie light armored classes get cloth, medium get leather and heavies get metal.

OR

2) make them all return leather. (I dont use leather but id take this as a compromise if they could simply be salvaged.)

I was actually considering investing in those, but it’s not worth the bank space to hold them.

This. I sold all of the back pieces I had. Good riddens.

I’m still holding my breath for this to happen. I’ve asked for it before. I’m sitting on roughly 75 rare back pieces. It would be nice to be able to salvage or MF them.

I really don’t care if they yield materials or not so long as we can recover the upgrades off them. I’m not about to use a transmute stone which is usually worth far more than the upgrade, just to move it from one back to another, that’s nonsense. Now being able to throw it in the mystic toilet would be a good idea too.
