Salvaging legendary gifts?
Nope.
This is why you don’t combine everything until you have everything ready, just in case there are changes or you pick up another precursor.

Thank you for your answer.
But I think Anet should add a way to do it, they didnt advised me that they were changing legendary weapons when i started crafting it. Don’t you think?

Absolutely, I believe there should be a way to get your materials back.
As for changes, they’re free to do whatever they want with their designs. If there are changes then it’s unfortunate.

I kinda liked the idea of the rainbow effect and while the bow seems a bit “my little pony” -ish….. I would of paired it with my female toon.
Flying unicorns? Naw… I’ll pass.
I cut my gaming teeth on Adventure&ZorkI,II,III.

I feel for thieves right now. Between Dagger, Pistol, and short bow – they have a short bow that shoots rainbow unicorns (seriously?) and a pistol that shoots confetti and daisies (really?). Looks like Dagger it is if you don’t want to look like a flamboyant parader.
Actually, after watching a video of the animation, I take that back. The flying unicorns have rainbow effect trailers. Kinda cool.
This would be VERY hard to miss out in the open world.

Personally I think anything that requires much work and effort should encourage calculated decision making with this kind of stuff.
I have no problem if they decide to refund your mats since you don’t want the weapon anymore – I just think it takes away from the mgnitude of our decisios as fictional characters in a fictional world.
I like the idea that creating someing can’t be simply undone due to convenience or preference.
But don’t get me wrong, if they change it so you can get your mats back I’ll be happy for you. I just don’t really like the idea of my decisions being something I should strongly consider.
Just another way to think about this: let’s say your class is altered in a partciuar patch and you no longer desire the exotic gear you saved forthe cause it isn’t as optimal anymore. Should anet refund the gold (if you bought) or mats (if you crafted) for all that gear you worked for?
I’m not saying they should or shouldn’t comply with the scenario I listed, just giving something to think about.

Maybe it’s just me but I see no connection between those unicorns and the MLP-characters at all. It only reminds me of this flash game.

It’s the ArenaNet icon on the hip. Almost impossible to see in-game due to travel speed, but it shows up in screenshots well.
