So I just came back from a long break and started making my first ascended weapons. With the transmutation stones gone, how am I supposed to transfer my sigils from one weapon into the new crafted ascended ones, now that I can’t salvage my old WvW bought weapons? Do I really have to destroy the “useless” exotic weapons with expensive sigils and buy new ones? Is there any way around this?

upgrade extractor in gem shop? Only way I can think of, but it’s probably cheaper to just destroy and buy new sigils.

very few upgrades are worth using the exactor. 99% of the time, you can convert those gems to gold and buy 2-20 of those upgrades for the same price as buying an extractor.
only use extractor on superior sigil of generosity and agony infusions +9 and higher (at the rate gem prices are going up, this will soon be +10 and higher)

Not possible at this time. Buy new siglis / runes and be aware of this next time you go to outfit a toon with Karma or Badge gear.

Stupid transmutation charges… Basically they prevent you from transferring sigils and stats from bad weapons to good ones, what useful things they are. I want the transmutation stones back.

The upgrades extractors are never worth it. The only thing they should be used for is removing useless sigils from legendaries.

Be careful with any event items also. The Adventurer’s mask and goggles can’t be salvaged either.
