I can’t seem to salvage unwanted soulbound gear. I used everything from crude to mystic kit.

Is this intended behavior ?

If it was karma bought gear you cannot salvage it, otherwise yeah you can.

They removed the ability to salvage karma bought gear so that could be why.

I think this item i’m trying salvage was a drop from a mob while i was in Orr. It was a soulbound on acquire.

We need a way to at least get the upgrades back from this items.

The behaviour is intended. The ability to salvage gear bought with karma was removed due to an exploit people were taking advantage of.

An interesting thing to note, however is that you can still buy gear with karma and combine it with other gear in the mystic forge to produce an item that is salvagable/sellable.
