So, in Lion’s Arch, beside the Mystic Forge, there is a Merchant (the merchant does not have an icon identifying her as a merchant) that I, just today realized, sells components to make Legendary items. The cost of these components is Skill Point, 200 to be exact.

My question is, I spent all my excess Skill Points I had accumulated, unlocking all my skills. Does anyone know if there are enough skill points left in game / or if there are any alternative ways of getting more skill points that can alleviate my new found shortfall?

If I had know about this I wouldn’t have spent my Skill Points. But I wasn’t looking to craft till I was level 80, and I didn’t think they would have an alternative use for skill points. That coupled with the issue that the Merchant is not identified as a merchant by any other way but randomly talking to her.

Anyone have any answers? They would be greatly appreciated! Not afraid to do the work, I just need someone to steer me in the right direction.

You can get like 15sp per wvw reset. You can also get 1 skill point per level and at 80 explorer dungeons give you like .6 levels per run.
Also press M to see how many skill points of the normal type you have not done yet.

At lvl 80, every time you fill your experience bar you get a skill point. Since reaching 80 I have avquired at least another 10 SP’s just by continuing to play and filling that bar over and over. The WvW zones are also a fresh batch of easy SP’s every day.

I’m not sure that too many are aware of the SP vendor, and if they were they might not have spent SP’s on skills they never use. SO choose wisely and save those SP’s…

No doubt. I have almost 50 again since purchasing all my skills. But I would have been in the 100s if I hadn’t.

I’m not sure I agree with this statement.

If you are referring to the Skill Point Challenges on the three Borderlands maps (3 in each) and the 4 in the Eternal Battlegrounds map (for a WvW total of 13, not 15), those are static and do not reset. Once you complete them, they remain completed, just as they do in the world map. (???)

The chests you can acquire from doing the jumping puzzles, however, do reset each day with the WvW match-up resets (although you can only get the achievements once).

EDIT: I must have missed where multiple folks seem to be saying the same thing. If you can indeed get fresh skill points from the Skill Point Challenges after each WvW reset, is this intended? It doesn’t make sense to me that you should be able to obtain skill points from already-completed Skill Point Challenges, since the Borderlands are static maps that just change names with each reset but retain all other aspects about them.

Just get to 80 and the skill points come rolling in. I have around 100 now, after purchasing all my abilities, and still have not been in 4 zones. You will continue to aquire “levels” after 80 and get the points. I generally level every 2.5 hours or so now just farming and doing events in the areas I am in.

What are people talking about here? 15 skill points every WvWvW reset? Do you mean Badge of Honor?

Even if you bought all the utilities you could, that’s about 170 skill points. There’s ~200 static ones in the world, plus the 75 you get leveling up.

And as noted above, you keep on earning them past 80.

I’m prety sure the WvW skillpoints reseting were an artifact of the BWE’s and is not live. Since the game launched I’ve not seen the skillpoints I’ve collected there reset at all during the 1 day battles and have still not reset since we went to 1 week. To those seeing the SP’s reset have you seen it happen in EB? Be aware that each of the borderlands has its own separate set of skillpoints. You could for example only go to your home borderlands while your on the red team and collect them all and then next battle when your on the green team it would look like all the points in your boarderland reset but if you look you’d still have all the points on the red map collected.

That said OP you’ll not have trouble with not having enough SP’s in the long term. there’s 200+ available from various points around the world, 75 just from getting to max level and a theoretically infinite amount after the level cap each time you fill up your xp bar at 80. once you run out of static points found in the world it may take you significantly longer to gain more points but you can still get them just for doign things that earn XP so any number you need is not out of reach.
