I’m a leatherworking (123) / engie btw.

I’ve looked up Slivers on a few different sites, and it says to combine them with other ingredients to make a rune.

eg: For the engineer rune, it says to combine 2 destroyer slivers, 1 thin leather, 1 iron ore…that’s all I’ve found?…this doesn’t work in discovery or in mystic forge.

After consulting with my guild they said to use a transmutation stone with all those ingredients in the mystic forge…still didn’t work.

If anybody out there can tell me exactly what to do with the slivers it would be much appreciated!

Combine them in the discovery tab. Most of the rune’s i’ve made needed atleast 3 slivers/shards.

You use them in discovery, yes. But I think you can also use them for potions or the mystic forge for undiscovered things. So to be honest, I’d hold on to them as the stuff you make for them is kinda… underrated compared to how often they don’t drop.

some recipes need to buy from vendor, gold or karma. if you look at gw2db dot com, you may find some items are unlock only. that mean you can’t find them via discovery. but they didn’t tell you where to get those recipes.

The minor engineer rune works as I’ve made it as a leatherworker haven’t tried to make it on any other crafters I have

Different crafting disciplines can make different runes or sigils and don’t necessarily use all of the different type of Slivers. So even though there are 8 or 10 different Slivers, you may only be able to use 3 or 4 on each type of crafting.

I appreciate all the replies…still no go using discovery…

I think @mcpaul may be on the money, maybe I need a recipe…because I have all the ingredients…

I’ve made both of those runes using the Destroyer Sliver and Fragment through discovery panel. You know you have to actually have the mats in your bags for them to show up on the discovery panel right? You can craft production recipes from the bank, but discovery has to be from your bags.

Roger that Nukum…mats in bags…put all in discovery and it’s red…no go.

If it’s red, that probably means that you don’t have a high enough level in that crafting skill to make it.

Maybe SCAL…the GW2db says 100, and I’m almost 125, see what happens if I level up a couple more!?

You should only need to be crafting lvl 100 for the Fragment, not the Sliver. That’s very odd. Are you sure you don’t already have the recipe down at the very bottom of the list?
