Jormag’s Breath of Ice Sword
Recipe:

Source: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_forge/Other_Weapons
Untested (As far as I know)

Sounds like it’s not a great weapon, with no shiny or glowy thing to it. The cost is way too low.

100 orichalcum sword blades? The rest of the recipe seems legit except for that part.

I saw a guy yest with that weapon, and he told me exactly the same recipe, but after a lot of research i found a recipe with 250 blades but 20 glacial lodestone, is possible craft something by 2 different ways?

“No shiny or glowy thing to it”?? Clearly, you haven’t seen it. Maybe you are familiar with the Fiery Dragon Sword from the Hall of Monuments? Jormag’s Breath is an icy version

@Chris,
I don’t think its feasible that they would create two recipes creating the same item, especially when one cost significantly more than the other.
However I do think the recipe I gave, seems too good to be true.

I knew I saw some corrupted enemies with Icy Dragon Swords.

Thank you for clearing that out…..
Does anyone knows if there Is a version for a Great Sword?

Linsey I got a question in regards to that, and well, possibly other special weapons in general.
The Hall of Monuments Fiery Dragon Sword is awesome, not just because it’s a really nice skin, but because it changes your damage to fire damage, so you know, things that die by fire damage ignite and roll on the ground screaming,
Does Jormag’s Breath of Ice change your damage to ice/cold damage and have an effect on enemies?
Do any other weapons change your damage type and have these neat death animations on enemies?
I’m in particular interested in Jormag’s Breath of Ice, Firebringer, and the legendary sword Bolt.
If these weapons DON’T cause such death animations… could they?
I know lightning damage gives a neat convulsing animation so I’m really hoping Bolt does this.

Devildoc I could comment on Firebringer seeing as I crafted one a week or so, there is no such alternate death animations that people report with the Fiery Dragon sword from HoM. I wouldn’t know about the rest.

That’s a shame Dysect, they really should have those extra animations.

Interesting point about the damage types. I’ll look into it.
Ratto, I’ve said it many times before and I’ll keep saying it, do not trust those 3D previews. They really really do not do the weapons justice and they are really bad at communicating effects.

The 3D viewer certainly doesn’t show the weapons how they will be in game. As for this sword, that black rectangle will pretty much be the awesome ice flame/aura of deathtasticness. It would be really awesome if it were possible to ‘Preview’ weapons/armor on the trading post though!

Thanks for looking into it Linsey, remember it wouldn’t give any statistical advantage, it’s just some extra animation/visual flair

I have one question for Linsey, i remember that you answerd this about Jormag’s Needle Dagger “It basically looks like a large icicle. No particle effects or glowing.”, i wonder why if this dagger is practically the same recipe/cost than Jormag Sword do not have anything special.?

why do swords get all the fun? no love for rifles/scepters/maces/hammers/pistols/shields? =( ok serious question, would a particular item have a similar skin-counterpart on a diff weapon? I know for some items like foci they don’t, but say this jormag thing, is there a jormag rifle, jormag axe, jormag mace, etc?

Does this mean there is a red version somewhere as well?!

In the same realm but different type… Naegling doesnt appear to have a particle effect either. Ideally being in same sort of Mystic Forge family and requiring similar requirement should have a particle effect also.

@ Khisanth
For GW1 players that have enough HoM points, 15 i think, they can get a sword skin that turns it into a fire version. Its more orange than red.

maybe not an exotic one but icy too :P

@saurus What great sword skin is that?
in Crafting

@nazekimi, thats the Jotun greatsword, fairly easy to obtain.

Is there recipe for a sword that is a fiery version of Jormag’s Breath of Ice? I know there’s the Fiery Dragon Sword skin from HoM but for a player like me who didnt play GW1 and wants to get a sword of similar skin, is there another way to obtain it?
I have no interest in a plain looking sword with fire particles (Firebringer). Im more interested in a cool looking sword with fire particles.

Just thought I’d post a pic of Jormag’s sword for those interested. Yes, at first when I crafted it and previewed it I was worried I just wasted a ton of money on a sword with no effect…. but I equipped it anyway and was glad I did.

Awesome post Honse, so I assume the recipe I posted was in fact the actual recipe on crafting one?
in Crafting
Posted by: Honse.3602
Yep, the recipe is the same as what was posted above :
Recipe:
1 Eldritch Scroll
50 Mystic Coin
100 Orichalcum Sword Blade
50 Corrupted Lodestone
While I was crafting Jormag’s Breathe, I noticed I was also able to put in Corrupted Lodestones with Glacial Lodestones (instead of the Orichalcum Sword Blades). I’m probably going to try that recipe out next….unless I get a heads up from the devs saying the recipe may be broken.

is there a greatsword named after jormag? until foefires essence or volcanus is discovered, i wouldn’t mind crafting a icey greatsword. and it looks way easier

We need that sword to freeze and shatter enemies on death
