Guild Wars 2

As an elementalist, I would love to be able to craft a special Wizard Hat that also features a certain armor value, much like the masks that are available to the magic classes. If that’s not possible, make it a special drop from some special skill challenge or event that’s only accessible to L80 elementalists, mesmers, or necromancers.

If the crafting option is pursued, so that not everyone can easily or casually obtain a Wizard’kitten, GW2 can make it a very special item that requires maximum crafting skill (500) and only available to a level 80 elementalist, mesmer, or necro who possesses some special crafting item that can only be obtained through some type of tough challenge. That way not everyone in the light armor classes will be able to wear a Wizard’kitten and they won’t seem so commonplace.

Once obtained it would then be considered a measure of great achievement or accomplishment. Also, these Wizard Hats should be soul bound so that they won’t proliferate and flood the market.

Perhaps others may have a better idea on how to structure the framework for its creation and what conditions need to be met in order to qualify. The bottom line is that I would like to see these special Wizard Hats introduced into the game rather than the current option of buying the armorless version that is sometimes available through the gem store option.

I’m pointing out that there already is a Wizard’kitten in the game. Copying and pasting (somewhat misleading) text from my link is certainly more useless than the link itself. It’s not available via Trading Post either. The OP will have to hope that Anet makes it available again this Wintersday or by other means.

I think it’s a cool idea to introduce a few new profession-oriented skins. The game already includes skins that unlock during character creation that were originally specific to each profession. I think it might be a good idea to offer some new options and a wizard’kitten could be a good choice for elementalists.

The current skins are listed on the wiki’s Biography article, so I’ll just highlight the current options:

• Elementalist: Glacial, Flame, Stone, and Storm “eyes” — these are definite prof-appropriate, but they are too specific to an attunement for my taste, plus they aren’t very noticeable.
• Necromancer: I love the skull mask for necros. (The other two skins are meh for me.)
• Thief: the anonymity hood is great; the two masks aren’t bad. These really suit the prof imo.
• Engi: Universal multitool pack and Panoscopic monocle are stellar choices that fit this class well imo.
• Warrior & Guardian: some helms or shoulder gear. I’m not a fan, but they do fit the professions and there are fans of each.
• Mesmer: I don’t think any of these suit the GW2 mesmer. They fit the theatrical connections that are loosely associated with the GW1 mesmer (a different class imo, using the same name). Besides that, I don’t find any of them attractive. I’d rather see something that fits the ethereal nature of illusions, perhaps stylistically similar to the weapons wielded by phantasms.
• Rangers: pets are their “skin” — seems like they should have some armor options, too.

tl;dr I agree it’s time for some new prof-oriented skins.

Sad for you I copied and Pasted exactly what the WIKI says. Now I do hope they can bring some thing like this back.
