drum roll… material down-grade via MF. Can’t claim it as someone else already posted it.
However after thinking about it, the cost of gossamer is not different enough to make down grade profitable unless you get 1-to-N in the conversion (instead of N-to-1).
Part of me thinks that someone in ANet was thinking “hey, wanna see something funny? Watch this…”
dunno if downgrade material will be done in a short period; would lead at tons of free money if u think at other materials where costs are pretty close
ANet’s been on Christmas vacation and haven’t said a word about ascended crafting since the beginning of December. This is all just wishful thinking and has no foundation in the views or opinions of the devs.
A more realistic approach to balancing the market instabilities regarding linen and silk would be a modification to the drop tables that affect the bags, chests, and other sources that contain linen and silk.
If downgrading would come along I’d expect it to be attached to some sort of gem shop consumable similar to a black lion salvage kit of sorts.
