Dawn and Dusk are not legendary weapons, they are exotic precursors, i.e. weapons which are used to craft Sunrise (Dawn) and Twilight (Dusk). Eternity is a bit special, it’s a legendary which requires 2 legendaries in its recipe. So to craft eternity, you need to craft Sunrise AND Twilight.

You’re right. That was a mistake in my post. What I meant was, are Sunrise and Twilight legendary weapons equal to Eternity? If so, is the fact that they are not recognized as legendary by ANET in the character menu a bug, or by design?

both are legendary weapons, period. if you search on the forums you can read many posts of devs saying “if you have a legendary → you’ll have the medal”.
however, im still without it : )

you do not get awarded the account medal with either twilight or sunrise
