T6 Inflation Farming
Remember to use paragraphs.
And yes ever since closing(not literal) of orr farm, everything has slowly but steadily risen in price.
The first issue that really got out of hand was t6 dust price. You can say it’s fixed now, but in reality, it was never fixed. See, the prices remained alright because they used to drop, then nerfs came along and then some more nerfs.
The droprate of t6 is worse than it ever was before, but since you can salvage the ecto everyone gets by doing world events all day, it’s ok.
Now for the other mats? Just wait till the prices go above and beyond and anet will make another non-fix for them, maybe.
The t6 nerfs could be basically aimed at the fact anet thinks people got their hands on legendaries too quick, thus “finishing” the game faster than they wanted. It’s a desperate means to fix something that didn’t need fixing.
There’s some other underlying problems but I’d imagine this is the basic gist of it. And I speak from experience on the nerfs. Been playing since september 2012, I’ve seen it all. T6 has never this un-farmable.
Also just to note, anet desperately wants people to do living world content, so these nerfs have quite directly pushed people out of the old end game content to do this new content so it’s more popular.
Wouldn’t it be awkward to have people do living world stuff on patch days and then rest of the 2 weeks go back to orr? Heh.

There is no reliable way to farm T6. Just go farm gold in general and buy it.

Gold if by far the easiest method of obtaining T6.
You can farm T6, but it will be a slow journey. The usual spots have all been heavily nerfed.
The only thing that reliably drop any more are the new support tokens.
I really don’t know what they are thinking with the direction they are taking this economy.
I’ve farmed for 2 hours each day over the past 3 days. In 2 hours I got anywhere from 9-13 powerful bloods. I really hope that with the upcoming nerf to cof, they come to their senses and and fix the usual spots. However this is me dreaming. We will most likely see more nerfs and people will be encouraged to buy gems and convert to gold.
They dont want us ’’grinding’’ and it’s pretty apparent they want to make traditional farming obsolete. Poor choice on their part, but what can we do? We aren’t part of the community that buys their in game gold. Therefore we’re just a number in Anets eyes. At least the people who buy their gold are numbers with dollar signs attached

This ultimately leads to inflation — if everyone has gold and nobody is filling the role of “supply”, prices will continue to rise.
There’s been a bit of a gold infusion in the last two weeks from the achievement chests. I expect prices to rise anyway in the short term.

The thing to keep in mind is that it’s relatively easy to inject T6 into the economy with T5 promotion, so I doubt it will get out of hand too much.

Yeah that is true — essentially T5 mats go up in price as T6 rises. The inflation just spreads… but I think you’re right that the rate of inflation will be tempered with T5 promotion.
I did the math on this the other day trying to determine if I should sell my T5 to buy T6 or convert the T5 into T6. It’s actually a tiny kitteneaper to convert but that’s only due to the 15% TP fees (this assumes you’re going to keep the T6 and not sell them, otherwise the math is a wash).
T5’s also go up b/c they’re used in generating Ectos used in TWO kinds of T6’s forging (clover recipe too), assuming your server can escort the Pact to Balth in one piece

Don’t worry tho, that won’t last long. COFs days are numbered now.

If a mob drops the T5 mat, it can drop the T6 with a lower chance. Example:
Skelks drop fangs and blood. Icebrood mobs drop claws. Risen spiders and elementals drop dust. These mobs have a good concentration in the zones where they exists and therefore, they can be farmed. I’m sure I’m missing some other mobs that can be farmed for the other mats. Your only limitation seems to be anti-farming code/RNG or whatever you want to call it.
IIRC, you get an average of 5-6 T6 mats from 250 heavy moldy bags. Don’t try to get your mats this way. Selling your bags at 3 silver each means you can buy a T6 mat every 7-8 bags. You decide if that’s a good tradeoff.

Once they change the way champions work (they will drop boxes with t6 mats, skill points, lodestones and unique skins) then t6 mats will have a lot of supply on the market from people farming CoF.
^ Very true. On the other hand, however, demand for T6 mats may also greatly increase depending on how many of them will be required to craft the T7 mats needed for crafting Ascended gear.
Why in the world do they nerf every spot that drops T6, only to realize later that there is a problem? And then their solutin, introduce a NEW was to obtain T6.
Instead of introducing new ways to obtain T6, how about you revert all their original sources back to the way they were? There was already good spots in game for T6 before they were systematically nerfed.
Destroy one part of the game, create a problem, then add something new to compensate. Makes zero sense.
Even though it’s been nerfed to hell, I still get a lot of T6 mats from Heavy Moldy Bags whilst doing events in Cursed Shore. Penitent, Shelter, Plinx, Jofast, and temple events, especially Melandru pre-event (escorting to the beacons).

Not to mention the increase in Legendary interest since they are going to make them “the last weapon of this type you will ever need” (adjustable stats).
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances

Giving it the “Raza” treatment is more of a gimmick (people didn’t just suddenly include him in their Party overwhelmingly compared to the Necromancer Heroes …most who did, had already been running him as a Ritualist/Nec anyway) . It’s really the Scavenger Hunt that will change demand the most. …at which point Demand will SKYROCKET according to Smith’s equation’s on desirability VS. accruement.
My question is where do the mats come from if everyone just buys them?
Well not everyone hates farming every t6. I wouldn’t say I enjoy farming in general but I find killing the various underwater stuff in Southsun Sun somewhat relaxing(when I feel like it).
When I sell my t6 scales to buy t6 claws it seems like someone is doing the same with claws but I have no idea where.
I haven’t looked at the math in a while(last time was before the ecto -> dust salvage was released) but upgrading t5 to t6 might actually be profitable in “large quantities” now so some of it could be from that too.

That change sounded very good initially but it doesn’t seem as appealing anymore. Sure you can change stat at any time but you’ll still be stuck with the sigil. Maybe they’ll add a legendary sigil to go with the legendary weapons.

I’m just speculating but..
Cof nerf → less gold for buying t6 → lower demand → lower prices.
If you plan to buy them and you aren’t a mindless grinder warrior who stays in cof ’till his eyes bleeds and more, this is going to help.
Actually t6 materials have been more or less stable in price for the last 7-8 months. There is a small drop when some exploit is found. Once that is fixed it goes back to stable prices.
The biggest increase in t6 mat prices came when they banned something like 50000 bots. If you want cheaper prices on the tp, ask for anet to let bots back xD

not for short time , those who foresee this will drain up supply by bulk order
to sell later, so the price can be remain at higher price.
this work very well on T6 , which i’ve been doing it since cursed shore nerf.
And to add on T6 price , T6 has never been cheap. never had and never will.
