I am starting to gather enough funds to craft either. I have been going back and forth between the two. I know the Ascended focus has better stats but I just love the look of the Anomaly. I suppose I can transmute it but I don’t want to spend another 100g to do so since I would like to start working on a legendary after this. What should I craft?

Anomaly-
I just crafted Eye of Rodgort and am in the process of gathering materials for Vision of the Mists for another character.
Unless you are absolutely set on ascended stats I would go for MF weapons every time

Usually people make Anomaly then if they have more time they make the ascended focus and transmute it. It’s just too cool of a weapon not to have.

Anomaly is Awesome! I vote for it!

Yeah I did Immobulus, Anomaly, then the ascended scepter and focus to transmute. I looked darn good while farming materials for the ascended

I run with an ascended Anomaly along with an ascended Firebringer on my mesmer. Fits her good.

If you have the funds, as you say, buy The Anomaly on the TP. It’s much cheaper than the cost of the mats used to make it, plus you don’t have to spend your skill points. This means more money you can put in your ascended focus on which you will put your The Anomaly afterwards.

Yes, the Anomaly should be ascended.

The Anomaly is the second high-valued weapon I made after Eye of Rodgort, and it’s probably the coolest weapon in the game (after EoR). I then made it ascended and I can’t get enough of that shiney.

For me…..I’ve been making ascended weapons/armors and transmuting them over to the look I already had. Just transmuted my vision of the mists over on my mesmer yesterday.

I really like my Anomaly and I think it goes great with my Bolt.

However I have my eyes on Spirit Links now too. Looks great tbh and sometimes, I think it’s better than the Anomaly

Fed up of Bolt/Anomaly Mesmers. It was nice back in 2012, but now it’s just a bore.

Fed up of Anomaly as a whole tbh. There are so many good foci in this game, you’ll get your fix of this weapon just running around LA.

Anet is in love with purple, and I really wish someone would show them a color wheel. We have so many dyes, several very similar, yet our weapons are mostly basic or purple.

Definitely agree. I like the “Guardian” weapons like the bow “Aether” or Foefires great sword but we also have lots of blue weapons. Also the Guardian weapons are a lot more expensive and have less weapon variety then the Mesmer ones.

On another note (in response to another person) , why should you care if I like Bolt and Anomaly? I think it matches great with my Mesmer. I play the game to stylize my character not to look cool in someone else’s screen.

It would be awesome if we could replace the scroll in making the anomaly to any unidentified dye or perhaps a list of colors to spice this item up.

Fabulous. I haven’t ever seen anomaly on a guardian, so that’s awesome.

The princess wand will stay. It’s one of my favorite skins and I get a laugh whenever I equip it… It’s a zerker transmuted

Yep. But Anomaly wouldn’t qualify, it’s cheap as chips.

I am currently 470-something in artificing and took considerable amount of gold to get there.. more than to craft the anamaly. I don’t think it should have ascended stats… maybe more than the exotic.. but then I heard that Ascended stats are negligible.

It costs more to get 500 Artificer & make an Ascended focus than the Anomaly costs.

So yes, it’s comparatively cheap, actually cheaper.

Personally, if my ele was a human, I’d wait to see what the new Flamekissed armor is going to look like before deciding on the look.
