After having crafted the first Ascended Weapon, I now realized thakittenwill be 5 days until next one.

So, I though, should I get one (or more) of my other chars to get 500 in the three weapon tradeskills or are the timer account bound?

Anyone knows?

It’s account bound so it won’t help. You know if you have the gold, you can just buy the time gated finished materials from the TP, right?

When I look at the ones I crafted (Glob of Elder and Lump of Mithrillium) they come up as account bound?
Checked TP and none there

Edit: I see what you say now, the Spiritwood is purchasable.

This is the only MMO I ever played where having alts is pointless.

I find them anything BUT useless, myself. But then, I see them as other characters to play, not as indentured labor.

Still, I was wondering this same thing about the recipes, but didn’t have a second 450 yet to test it out. So, nice to know in advance, I guess.

Not pointless when you have 8 80s to farm chests for the other mats you need.

Ecto refinement are on the daily reset timer and each item can only be crafted once per day per account.

Having multiple 80’s does make farming some of the mats much easier since loot chests (not bonus) from meta events, jumping puzzles, and random chests scattered through the game world can be looted once per character per day as any other gathering node.

Except ori (and bountiful passiflora), which are account-capped now.

Very narrow minded view of the game. If your purpose for having Alts is to just “gear them up”, why have them?

The “gearing up” is not a purpose, but merely a prerequisite. “Gearing up as a purpose” approach is something that Anet is trying to introduce.
