Too much Silk
It does have the potential to slide back into oversupplied territory, I’ll admit. Still, it’s holding steady at about 1.75 silver right now, and I believe that even with a reduction to 50 Silk Bolts, it likely won’t drop below 1 silver thanks to Damask being used by all 3 Armor professions. A reduction in price might also spur more people to craft Ascended armor, thereby keeping demand up near the same level despite the reduction.
That said, I hadn’t considered the possibility of reverting the Scrap → Bolt conversion back to 2. I think that if this were implemented, along with the general 50% increase in cloth scraps from salvage, then the requirement of 100 Bolts could stay.
I am curious about the story behind your signature. Jed?
Thank you for asking! My signature references some folks I’ve run with on Jade Quarry
Reminded me of Jeddas and MERCS.
Let this be clear:
- Players who crafted one set probably done so before the release. People who only have one set crafted AFTER the patch will realize that a 2nd set just isn’t worth it.
- Players who have already crafted several sets probably exploited marketing tactics to get gold or they managed to stock up on tons of mats pre patch.
- Players who have no set will be disappointed when they figure out the ludicrous requirement that is bolt of damask. Did you know its required for EVERY ASCENDED ARMOR PIECE in game?
- Light armor players are kittened on their face and finally it gets wiped with a towel full of kitten. Thats’ how it feels when you figure out how much you will be spending on a full set compared to medium or heavy
50 bolt- 3 scraps per bolt = fixed. Silk scrap does drop at a decent rate, but still not enough to justify the 100 bolt requirement.
Know your game Anet, because I fail to see the logic here.
