Does transmutating a legendary to a white item( to make it account bound) make it lose its legendary abilities?

with all the work it takes to make a legendary, I don’t think anyone has been brave enough to try this lol

It shouldn’t in theory, because they remain Legendary even when transmuting onto exotics. But like Drede said, I doubt anyone has been brave enough to try it.

I’m not sure what you mean by “abilities”, but if you’re referring to the graphics then no, it doesn’t lost its effects. A legendary skin is a legendary skin, no matter what item it is transmuted onto, and retains all the bells of whistles.

Is this confirmed? as I was about to transmute my legendary to an exotic weapon stats to be closer to what I need.

It retains its purple font and name (doesn’t get suffixed) BUT it can be put in the mystic forge together with exotics.. I believe this is a bug that will get addressed in the future. I’m so confident that I transmuted my 3 legendaries.

I know people that transmute their soulbound legendary weapons to white quality so they can send it to another character to use, then they can transmute it back
