Will legendaries retain there legendary status (purple name, legendary in description) when transmuting my legendary staff looks with my exotic staffs stats and signet?

I’ve heard some people say it loses one or both of these and sometimes weapon effects.

Thank you for your answer, i had looked around for threads previously but none of them had definite answers as to what you can and cant do to legendaries.

• Transmuting Exotic or below stats onto the Bifrost will cause it to lose legendary status and name.
• Weapon name is changed to “Bifrost of (sigil name)” apon transmuting.
• No effects are lost apon transmuting stats onto the staff.
• Sigils in the weapon can be swapped without affecting the weapon in any way.

I’m not sure and I don’t think anyone has or ever will try to find out. Still if that is the case then you could be the first! Go ahead and make history.

I would rather find out then test it myself maybe an ANet mod to post and tell us what happens?

You lose the purple name and the item will say exotic it will also take on the name of hte sigil. Like bitfrost of X

Effects stay. Only thing you can do is swap the sigil and that doesnt effect anyway.

I don’t have my legendary yet but the search function is powerful cause this has been asked like a lot.

Cause you have it equipped. Unequip it then transmute it.

oZii.2864, dear friend, im not telling about this. I can’t transmute it because transmuting will turn my legendary into exotic.

it wont turn it into an exotic. It just changes the color of your item description. big deal. Its the skin which matters.
Or you could just keep the awsome stats on it.

I know the skin will remain, but i like the purple name and this is a part of having a legendary item. All i want is a reply to know if this will be removed or will stay in the game.

Was going to make another topic. I got colossus from forge sold and bought dusk from TP.

Just want to confirm if its safe to swap the sigil on the precursor? I know not to transmutate but just wondering about sigil. I dont want rage sigil messing up my cd on fire procs.
