Is there any difference in the appearance of the Prototype and Beta Fractal Capacitors? I’ve also heard they’re considering lowering the material reqs on these back pieces. (I certainly hope not.) Is there any truth to that rumor?

As for the recipe changing I haven’t been paying attention to rumors but I certainly hope not, it would be a huge kick in the face to those of us who have spent 250+ ectos (100g!) on them already to infuse.

Awesome, thank you very much. Yeah, I feel the same as you on the upgrade components. I certainly hope it remains the same. It’s not unreasonable for the skin you get.

I have not heard the rumors of them reducing the cost to infuse the capacitor. However, I have heard many requests for that.

The extra +5 AR is not that important for me to spend 250 ectos.. nearly 100g. The returns will not exceed the cost.

I have absolutely no problem with the 250 ecto requirement for the Fractal Capacitor (infused) as it is merely a cosmetic upgrade.

If they reduce the amount of materials for the pre-infused version I want my ectos/money back. That took me a long time.

You would have paid the premium to have the equipment for longer than those who did not. What you are saying is tantamount to saying “I spent 2000 gems on the digital deluxe upgrade, but then they put it on sale for 1600 gems! I want my 400 gems back!” Sorry, but you don’t get them back.

Welp, I just upgraded my to the infused version. (It looks awesome.) I hope it stays the way it is. It was only 81 gold. I got my ecto from a buddy in my trading guild. Saved a lot.

Premium? what about those ppl who infused it couple days before the patch, that’s a huge amount of $$ just for a premium of few days lol

Also, 2000 gems is nothing comparing to the cost of 250 ectos(which is almost the equivalent of 5000 gems right now)

My point stands. If ANet lowers the cost in any way for anything in the game (not just capacitors), if you demand a refund for your prior purchase of that item, your demand is unfounded. ANet can and will change the supply and demand of items how they see fit to best serve the economy. I imagine it would suck to buy 250 Powerful Blood one day only to have a patch the following day that doubles their supply (this happened to people), but that’s how things work.

Keep in mind that I highly doubt ANet will change the difficulty to obtain the capacitors. They may offer alternatives to 250 ecto, but I imagine if they do that it will be difficult alternatives, like 250 pristine fractal relics or something along those lines. ANet is keenly aware of the “value” of items and the “value” they want items to have.

ANET IMO will not change the recipe, it is what it is. Granted 250 ectos for a slight cosmetic upgrade and +5 agony is a little steep, however I see it as a stepping stone to get the final version.

I currently have the beta fractal capacitor and just 142 factal relics away to gettiing my gift of ascension so that I can upgrade it to the final version (already have the shard and 250 ectos).

I totally agree with a stack of ecto for the final cosmetic upgrade, but 250 ecto for the AR is rough. I think having an alternative for only that step would be sufficient, and like I said, I think it would need to be extremely difficult to achieve in its own right. I’d happily farm towards 250 pristine fractal relics if they could be used like that.
