So I’ve made a stupid decision and bound my Advanced Spinal Blades to the wrong character. Will upgrading it to the ascended form in the Mystic Forge make it account bound again so I can bind it to another character?

Might be worth a try. Otherwise, I suggest you craft another one as the cost for transmutation&splitter trick would be much more higher.

Upgrading the Spinal back piece will delete the lower tiered item and give the higher tiered item. As a result, the soul-bound item is gone and the new item is account bound until used.

Thats a relief, thanks. I had a feeling thats how the forge works but I wanted to make sure before I dedicate all those mats to upgrading it. Better start working on it.

You’ll be fine until you get the last version of the back piece, then you have to worry about binding to the wrong character for good.
