How many mats do you get for upgrading your common crafting mats?
So lets say I want to upgrade Linen to Silk.. how many Silk will I get on average from the MF.

For the unique materials (blood, totems, scales etc.) you can get between 5-12. I have yet to try it with cloth or metal

The wiki states an average of 80 per promotion of unrefined or refined common mats up to tier 5.

Since the start of this year, i promoted thousands of stacks of common t1 mats into t2.
While my average is a bit different, i would suggest to use the 80 as an average for further calculations and record your own data.
I should also note, that my average changed a bit after the feature patch, in which Anet adjusted certain outcomes of the forge.
