Q:
What about Rosemary and Sage?
Obviously no one has the Thyme to give you an answer….joking aside I think I saw some sage in some of the 70ish level zones. Never seen rosemary at all :/ Wish I could be of more help.
I’ve noticed much the same thing with other materials. Walnuts, for example, seem to be extremely common when harvesting from trees, but they’re also barely used in recipes, where as things like chili peppers are (or at least seem to be) much more rare but used in significantly more recipes.
I think Anet may need to look into the drop rate-to-recipe rarity of ingredients.
I got some rosemary in the high 60s area. Can’t say which one, but I think Norn sixties area? Same with sage; something high level-ish.
Now… as they were saying, chili peppers…
Both Rosemary and Sage are found in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. Sage also seems to be available in The Fields of Ruin
But I’m concerned about where it seems to be heading!
Distinctly less shiny than it once was

That might be a problem but the other issue is that some of these are only in certain zones. From the number of people I am encountering in some zones it just seems like those zones are not very popular for whatever reason. I personally hate Fireheart Rise and Lornar’s Pass(which is one of the other places for Rosemary).
I got 20 sage for map completion in Diessa Plateau, didnt get any harvesting every herb node i saw while finishing map though.
Some of the ingredients can only be hervested in certain regions of Tyria. Just some i know of: Dill and Sage(not sure about thath) in Ascalon, Rosemary in the Shiverpeak regions, Sesame in Kryta (Hrathi Hinterlands), Vanilla and Mint in the Maguuma regions. So i would guess that every region of tyria has two or three special herbs that only grow in these regions. Another good reason to explore every region in Tyria.

Dill … I have 100% for Fields of Ruin on two characters and I have 6 Dill. I guess if they were trying to equalize the cost of Chef and the other crafters then they have succeeded since Dill and Rosemary are around the same price as the Fine Crafting Materials on the Trading Post.
Edit: Well there are a bunch of buggy DEs in there so maybe people are just staying away for that reason.

Mint also drops from the Bloodtide Coast area.
Vanilla beans are also scarce it seems :/ are these tree or herb patch items now? They’re used in Baker’s wet ingredients and a few other, which of course are used in even more recipes.
These never should have been removed from the vendors.

and Iron Marches(just went through that again last night) along with Mint.
