That’s the minimum level of that crafting profession you’ll need to be able to use that item to craft with. Red =’s not not high enough.

But it says 25 for Artificer, though I’ve not even started it.

For Red Meat it means that you can use it at the start (lvl 0) as a Chef but you need lvl 25 profficiency in Artificer to make potions out of it. It doesnt matter at what lvl you are in that profession personally for this to show up in the tolltip of the material, only if you want to craft with it.

Levels go to 500 btw (400 for Chef and Jeweler atm) and this progression is not restricted by your charcters regular level which caps at 80.

That’s why the color is white. For crafting disciplines you have learned, and have active(1), the color would be green (if your discipline level is high enough) or red (if it’s not).

(1)Remember, that while you can learn all the disciplines on one character, only 2 of them can be active at any time.

And that at level 400, it cost 40 silvers for each swap.

I’d suggest leveling 2 on each toon (4 toons) to make it cheaper to craft and it will also give about 14-20 levels on your toon.
