No idea if this has been brought up before but I noticed 100% increase in the price of Globs of Ectoplasm. Yesterday the cheapest alI could find on TP was 32silver and I believe that few days ago it was not more than 17s. Also few other T6 mats prices spiked but I consider it to be normal.

Does it have something to do with DR and less rares being dropped accross the game or some individuals decided to take over the market of ectos?

Not really, look, now ppl are crafting weapons for customize his/her character and those weapons need a lot of Ecto, so increase demand increase price, another thing is the black lion savage kit, since the cost of gems is increasing every day, now buy a black lion savage kit cost like 5.45 gold so thats why ectos are more expensive now

Ectos haven’t been 17s for months.

T6 mats spiked but considered it normal? But not ectos? They all spiked due to the bot ban wave.

The other thing is that Ecto has been rising in price ever since they introduced Ascended back items, since all the recipes for them require 50 ectos. Yet another thing that lots of people are using ecto for.

Bot ban wave resulted in a much lower supply of trash rares->smaller supply of ectos. Look at GW2Spidy, the supply of ectos absolutely tanked on the 18th and price has been increasing since then. Whenever there’s a bot banwave, all valuable materials increase in price significantly.

It’s a result of the bot ban, and of the goods side of the trading post being more responsive to it than the money side. You’d expect a spike in prices after the ban, followed by a slow snap-back; we’re seeing that spike at the moment.

I wonder if we can estimate a velocity term from the shape of the spikes…

Bot ban! The tier 5-6 has gone up some too I hope it continues to rise, and if the bots come back we will have to group with them so the few people who like to farm matts in the open world won’t feel so punished.

Persons saying they make money from buying and selling items on TP are in various threads…. 0o The hedge fund simulator has been an active mini-game for some time now.

Thanks for the replies, however seing massive drop in prices of ori ore and supposedly bugged DR mechanic I wondered if those are somehow connected.
