I’m trying to find the most efficient class that can roam around and collect important crafting reagents quickly (both nodes, like mining, harvesting, wood) as well as being able to farm mobs quickly for scales, blood, claws, etc.

I’ve been bouncing between Ranger and Warrior, however, I’m unsure if thief would also be good for this position as well.

I know warriors are the undisputed masters of DPS, however, they lack mobility and ease that the ranger has with their passive movement speed and their bow/axe ranged damage.

So I’ve turned to the boards, you guys, to hopefully come up with an answer based on your experience and outlook.

I appreciate your time and help in advance.

Ranger with Bear pet and “Guard!” is great for having your pet distract a Champion while you harvest the Rich Vein behind it.

Also, eles for the AoE. However, there are some theories that you get more loot by killing the mobs one by one, instead en-masse. Some kind of short-term, instant DR. Just a theory, though.

thieves do the job for me. with high mobility and always up 25% speedboost from signet you can go from node to node quick.

When mobs get to close or you agro to much just stealth harvest it and move on.

I find my Guard is best for tapping in swarm events (Pen/shelt, etc).

Individual monster mash like in the Frostgorges or the Sparks-&-Air-Elementals-Murder-Hour in Malchor’s Leap my Ranger is pretty much a farming machine.

Yeah my main is a Guardian and I have to say it’s fantastic in events where you have to tag mobs fast, such as Penitent & Shelter. Usually I just run around using staff 1, it has a huge area where it hits! If there’s a tight clump, I take a spin with greatsword.

But in solo, hmm. I guess warrior would be good.

I main a guard for pvp and use a warrior for pve/farming. Warriors seem best suited to that for me.

They have high enough dps and a large enough amount of AoE (GS and Longbow) for tagging to never be an issue.

They have enough base health and armour for sustain (in pve).

The have good mobility and can zip around the map with ease using rushes, charges, whirls, horn + sword, sun/immobilize breakers etc (in pve).

If you ever run low on funds or need a large amount of gold you can speed run CoF1.

Other classes no doubt can do well though.

ranger is on top of the list for what OP looking.
fast moving, short bow quick and easy tagging world boss, 3 traps throwing work as any AOE spell, trap quick recharging and stay until get activated. pet for tanking.
build: full zerk trait arrow pierce+ trap recharge and trap throwing
gears: full magic find with short bow

Necro is a good choice for group/crowded place farming.
super good at tagging many mobs, Marks and wells spell are all AOE, big with trait and can place on ground instead of trigger right away like element spell. that mean u had 8 AOE spell on your hand
build: staff build with mark big, damage, recharge fast. well trait with use ground target + recharge 20% faster.
Gears: full magic find if farming in crowded place like cursed shore, lost shore,

the best thing of these 2 class is you can place marks/traps ahead of time and stand for the kill instead of timeming spawn and cast AOE like other class
