What set of ascended armor for necro?
cleric? since you only do open world and eotm. and most boss you can’t crit anyway.
no one even pvp in eotm, it’s just champ train anyway.

I understand but necro has high hp to start with isn’t it better to go for damage?
I dump ascended armor chests that i don’t know what else to do with on my necro. Got a dire chest and cavalier legs so far.
:D
This should probably be in the necro forum, but my necro loves her dire ascended armor. It’s great for survivability and taking on crowds of enemies. Not good for 1v1 unless it’s going to be a long battle. Slap on some runes of scavenging and sigils of bursting for even more condition damage. Staff, axe, and horn plus wells for utilities and Plague Form for your super power. Rare veggie pizza and Master tuning crystals let all that condition damage do even more. NOT good for mega boss battles however with the conditions nerfed at 25 stacks.
Zerk for pve……
Ascended zerker for pve and wvw zergs, an optional exotics carrion set for small groups in wvw.
Is rampager not a thing anymore?
I don’t honestly know anything about wvw, and I’d just as soon keep my necro stuck at character select rather than gearing it for dungeons, but I thought in pvp situations conditions were really powerful? Is that not true anymore?
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?

you should probably focus on dungeon/fractal or wvw gear even if you dont’ do those. since you really can do world boss or eotm in any set of gear, which is really just tagging mobs. I suppose berserker is easier to tag mobs if you into tag farming with necro.
Zerk/Soldier for PVE and power builds (depending on how good you are at surviving. Soldier is also a good option for WvW zergs), dire/rabid for pure condi builds (works for open pve, but less for dungeons and not for any kind of bigger group activities, due to condi cap).
Remember, remember, 15th of November
You shouldn’t go for Ascended gear if you only do Open World and EotM train. There is really better at that, since its like the easiest things to do in the game (like Champ train). You better experimenting with exotikittenil you figure out what you want to do with your necromancer. Dungeon, fractal, sPvP, WvW pug zegging, WvW raiding, WvW roaming? There are the kind of content where crafting ascended gear make more sense. But the won’t need the same stuff. Dungeon and Fractal will need full Beserker, WvW raiding will need a mix of Berserk, Soldier or Knight (depend on what balance in stats you want), WvW roaming is more about conditions so things like Carrior, Dire, etc.

I mostly do open world and eotm(no dungeons or fractals on this toon)
You’re in luck because for zergy karma train content — which both of those are — you can get whatever you like… won’t make any difference. So just get whatever looks best.
If you want to max your condi damage in open world, you want carrion armour, rampager weapons, and rabid trinkets. Dire is ok for a hybrid wvw build, but not in PvE.
If you want to max your direct damage in open world, then it is zerker armour, or soldiers for the non-crit bosses, zerker weapons and trinkets.
Keep in mind that condition builds generally suck for PVE.

PVEDungeons.
Fixed that. There is nothing wrong with Condition Damage except in Zerg situations (were it is highly nerfed by stacking limitation). In Open World exploration / roaming, Condition Damage can often kill mobs of enemies faster (and certainly easier) than Zerker builds.
To be honest, Condition Damage in a Dungeon isn’t that bad (assuming no more than one other player is Condition based), it just does not kill as quickly as Zerker (and thus quite unpopular with the “pro-runner” crowd).
The general idea that Condition Damage builds “suck” in all situations in PvE is just a myth.
