How do you guys spend mithril and elder wood logs other than crafting rares?

I’ve come to a point where I just don’t know what to do with it. I’ve got 250mithril ore/bars and 250 logs/planks in my bank.

Craft rares are throw them into the Mystic Toilet hoping for a precursor.

How so?

The Elder Spirit Residue eat 50 planks of Elder Wood and Mithrillium 50 Mithril ingots. These are the level 450 crafting materials that can be produced once a day. Huntsman can also make the equivalent thing for leather.

These materials are part of what makes Spiritwood Planks/Delrimoor Steel/Elonian Leather for crafting Ascended at level 500. They also eat up a lot of other stuff.

I was in the same situation before. I had a big pile of Elder Wood and Mithril in my bank. And eventually just sold some of them. Now i regret that because I have nothing left. Finally, i had only enough of them to craft 2 ascended weapons and now i have to wait for more mithril and wood for my last ascended weapons for my main and more mithril in prevision for ascended armor. Just hoping that i have enough silk and leather tier 5 for my armor.

I sell them all day every day. I need money. And I figure that Mithril / Elder Wood are one of the few materials its actually not hard to grind for (run through any high level area with a few characters and you end up with a full stack), so if I end up needing a lot in the future its actually not too hard to get.

Once you get a craft discipline to 450, you can just craft the first stage of the ascended mats, which is the time-gated one. To craft each fully to the planks/squares/ingots, you will need anywhere from 1-4 gold apiece, so it can be expensive, but you may get a return on your investment when ascended armor comes out (except for wood, which is weapons only).

You can alternatively gather the mats to make the ascended mats from the open-world if you have time, and sell the finished planks etc. on the TP for quite a bit of gold.

Save the mithril. Use or sell the wood.

My golden rule: save only when you can use it in next 8 weeks

when not than sell or you lose money

when you make 10% from your gold per week and invest all again than you double it in 7-8 weeks
