Short story – was kitting my guard with knights and now he is a wvw toon only and was swapping some pieces to clerics.

Is there any way to get value from the old armour. It doesn’t salvage which I think Anet should address. Seeing as we can buy damask and most insignias (not celestial)on TP we should get a chance of salvaging these back rather than have to hang on to the armour as an expensive 60 gold reminder of a poor life choice now repented. Also lets people get some value from weapon boxes of types that they don’t want to use themselves.

The other option would be to try the legendary unbinding trick to try and transfer the knights to my other heavy which is warrior. I could get a little value out of it that way, but not sure if the unbinding trick works on ascended armour – if anyone has tried please let me know.

I’m holding onto old ascended items in the hopes that they will be salvageable into something more than the rune that’s in it (such as deldrimor or damask)
You know, I haven’t even tried – can you get ecto from salvaging ascended armor? can you even salvage ascended armor!?!? I feel like I tried to salvage an ascended ring a while ago and it wouldn’t let me.

Pray that you get a one time swap in the up coming balance patch, that’s what I’m doing. My circumstances are difference because I chopped and skewed different stats together to get my desired build but due to the crit damage changes, only 2/3rds of my build may get refunded (since my armor is zerker and my trinkets are celestial) while my weapons will not (clerics) and this is under the massive assumption that anet even cares.

I’ve tried to salvage my armor before just to see if anet would allow us to do something so careless but you can’t

awww. I was looking forward to posting screenshots with titles such as "I needed more dark mater, so I salvaged my Zojja’s Claymore.

I have 2 boxes of useless stat ascended armour wasting space in my bank.

The day when we can salvage and/or trade this stuff cannot come soon enough for me …
