Where can I farm Tier 5 materials?
When I was Karma farming in Orr I found that while just doing all the camp events, Plinx and pretty much the rest of them you pick up Large bones/claws and Venom sacs and then you have all the heavy loot bags which can contain t5/6 mats.
Depending on your class you can farm in the Karka area with just reflect projectiles alone.
If not then Orr is probably your best bet.
lv80 with skills fully unlocked, warrior, elementalist and engineer
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.

Orr is riiiiiight down south of the explorable map, if you open up your big map, and you know the name of the actual like areas (Kryta, Ascalon, Maguuma Jungle ect.) look for the one saying ‘Ruins of Orr’. Now, there are three zones in there, and you can only get into the 2nd zone from the first one, and can only get into the 3rd zone from the second. To get into the first one though, you must go to the bottom left corner of Mount Maelstrom. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mount_Maelstrom. Any more questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for such an informative post! I managed to get a few bloods and enough fangs at Mount Maelstrom, so I’ll head down to Orr now. I’d like this thread left open though, just in case anyone has any especially good farming spots to share.

I hear people talking about farming in Orr all the time, which is good, because then you have a good chance of other people coming along to help you. However I’ve found the range of T5 crafting mats to be somewhat limited; I’ve received ~30 large bones and not much of the others.
Frosgorge Sound is apparently more diverse in the T5s the monsters drop (according to wiki) and so far I’ve been liking playing there. As a bonus, it’s a lot closer/cheaper to run/WP back to LA from Frostgorge than Orr is.

Regarding t6 totems (elaborate totems), try the Despond waypoint at Frostgorge. Kill the dredge.
It’s a somewhat popular farming spot, so you can group with other people killing there sometimes. Drop rate is so so. You may find it’s better to just play in orr and sell stuff to buy the t6 totems. But it’s somewhere else to play.
Southsun has three easy foe types that drop t5 and t6. Karka drop shells (obviously!) and also blood. Skelk at the Under New management area. Appear around it and also with a event there. They drop fangs and blood as well. Drakes are very hard to kill, yet drop claws and scares most likely.
You also have fish and barracudas to kill for scales.
Riders have venom sacs.
Bones and totems are no shows in Southsun though.

Frostgorge is pretty good with T5/6 mats.. killing the bears for Potent Blood is easier than the trolls I think. Silk scraps come from salvaging high level 70’s to 80 Light armor. The Grawls will drop totems.
The corrupted mobs in frostgorge drop tons of T5 claws and bones as well as some t6 bones and claws as well as the chance for corrupted lodestones.
