Has anyone else noticed a drastic decline in obtaining Gossamer scraps at level 80? I have spoken to allot of crafters on our server and the comments are the same. The best way to locate them has been thus far to use scavenging kits on fur scraps.

My main source of getting them has been salvaging cloth gear/scraps…from bags of loot dropped by undead in Malchor’s Leap and beyond, and I got a stack of 40 scraps for completing the Frostgorge Sound map (though this is randomized).

Same here – salvage cloth armor & rags from level 70+ areas has worked for me, but the volume isn’t very high. (Admittedly, I haven’t aggressively looked for them yet, so YMMV.)

This made me a kitten ton of gold in the first month. Discarded garment buy orders. It’s not profitable anymore because the cost of silk has dropped so much, but it’s a solid way of obtaining gossamer. They drop in wvw and the majority of ppl there just throw everything on the ah to save a trip

*also, beware hand strain salvaging multiple stacks of 250 at a time :P

weird as it may seem, i use the basic salvage kit for discarded garments or other cloth salvageable things, and i seem to get the same if not more gossamer outcomes than wiht the mystic salvage kit o.o
