I’m trying to get the materials I need to craft my level 80 Exotic Armor, and I need Elaborate Totems.

I have tried Grawls in Frostgorge Sound and some Inquest in Malchor’s Leap but they have only dropped Intricate Totems for me so far.

Does anyone know what I should kill that drops Elaborate Totems?

You’re killing the right mobs, it’s the same chance to drop as a yellow weapon. My advice is sell the Intricate Totem and buy the Elaborate.

You can also throw in 50 Intricate, 1 Elaborate, 5 Piles of Crystalline Dust, 5 Philosopher’s Stones to the Mystic Forge. You can buy the stones from Miyani who is standing next to the forge in LA. You won’t be getting back 50 Intricate so it’s a gamble depending on the market price.

What are the numbers for getting Elaborates from the Mystic Forge recipe?

The range is 5-12, however I suspect the average to be somewhere between 6 and 7 given that whenever I have done transforms 5 & 6 and by FAR the most common results.

With the current low price of totems you are better off farming or buying them outright atm:

MAX PROFIT : 6s 82c
PROFIT SP : 13s 64c

Basically you would save (on average) 7s.90c per @6 by converting T5->T6.
