They’re exotic weapons that let you choose their stats and are account bound until you bind them to someone. On top of that, you get that skin and the devolved “Hero” skin for them when you buy one. What, did you want them to be ascended instead?

So, let me try and recollect what you said: Instead of getting an entire exotic weapon and two skins, you want just one skin. I’m guessing you probably already have an ascended weapon, which is why you wouldn’t care about the exotic quality of the weapon you’re getting. Even so, that seems a bit silly to me.

Also, transmutation charges are even easier to get than the transmutation crystals back in the days before. Map completion, PvP reward tracks, make a new character and complete a city map (Grove or Rata Sum seem to be quickest if you know a good path, but that might just be me)… it really comes off as a bad reason to complain.

And what about those who don’t have ascended weapons.. perhaps this reward was great for them? …
Also if you have an ascended weapon, you should know by now how easy it is to get 1 charge…
I just think it’s down to laziness on your behalf.

Yup, I salvaged my exotic dagger for the sigil and also got some ectoes and dark matter

I have roughly around 150 charges, never paid any $ for them. You were saying?

I prefer full weapons. hate when I have to go buy a weapon just to use a reward.

Post is proof positive that you can never please everybody all of the time…..(and some people, never….)

Wish I could salvage the weapon for Ectos/Dark Matter, actually. XD I have plenty of Transmutation Charges thanks to stockpiling all my Stones/Crystals, and I get some more from PvP.

I believe he meant to say “Otherwise that would make it possible to get a cheap ascended weapon if you get enough tickets.”

Still doesn’t make sense. They’re full exotic weapons that cannot be salvaged or upgraded. I’m thinking he assumes you can salvage the exotic weapons for dark matter, when you can’t.

As for the topic as to skin vs. full weapon, doesn’t matter to me. I get the skin either way.

They should have been ascended. Considering the time involved and the fact that for many, WvW is their endgame, that would have been fitting. Most of us are using ascended anyhow and its not top tier.

PvP tournament players, of course, get legendaries apparently.

Legendary = 2500 gold approx
Exotic = 2 Gold if you are lucky

Don’t need to do the math to see which of these tournaments is more valued.

Yeah, you kind of do have to do the math. Multiply both gold values by the number of people who win a legendary in pvp and those who win an exotic in WvW.

And for me….I bought two of the hero weapons along with the mistforged weapon and as I don’t need rare quality items (or more exotics).

I stupidly deleted the rare hero weapons totally forgetting that I could upgrade them next year. Oh well. Stupid me. I’d put in a support ticket to see if they’d give me the hero sword/axe back but it’s completely my fault and I accept that.

How dare anet give us an exotic weapon and let us choose any (well, almost any) stats we want for it? Those meanies.
