They used to work, now they don’t. Now you enter a value, click ‘craft’ and it crafts exactly one item.

Your terrible, terrible attempt at implementing a scroll wheel fails in every way imaginable. You can’t click on the arrow to the right of the box. Using the mouse scroll wheel just zooms the camera in and out. If you click inside the box and hold and then drag outside, the scroll wheel goes up a random small amount.

This is utterly unacceptable when I’m trying to craft one hundred of something.

I really don’t know WHY they would fix something that wasn’t broken. And actually break it. It has been bugging me as well. What was wrong with the old window?

To make the number stick you also need to hit the enter key after typing in the number in the box, otherwise it just goes back to 1. It’s a little annoying, the interface feels so clunky I keep forgetting to press enter before I begin craft.

They have a history of this, there’s a slight problem, they break it to kitten, a month or so later it’s finally fixed.

Thanks for highlighting this issue Vorpal. I agree that they have made it worse.

When did they do this, I haven’t crafted in a couple of weeks. Its horrible – I had no idea how to use the new system until it was explained to me. Revert to the old box…typing in a value is so much more convenient than scrolling.

Uhm, you can still type in a value, you just have to push the enter key. Hadn’t crafted in a month and took all of 10 seconds (and 1 go of crafting only 1 item) to get it.

This is the new system. Get used to it.

I like the old system better…. it took me days to figure out that now you have to hit enter for your number to “stick”… I constantly craft and was having to hit “Craft all” and estimate when to stop it to get the amount I actually needed.

@OP For me, rather than clicking the box and dragging up, I’ve been clicking and dragging the arrow. Seems to work a little smoother for me. But I agree with the difficulties of this new system.

Not sure yet how I feel about it. So far it’s been manageable, just took me a bit to get used to.

Of course some people out of many are going to happen upon the correct method just by chance.

And why should players “just get used to it” if its terrible. Even taking the hitting enter thing out (which really makes no sense whatsoever) – the new box is tiny compared to the old one. Even clicking on it is annoying. Sure, I could get used to it, but why? Were people typing in their desired number of crafting runs too quickly for Anet? I doubt it.

The old box should be reverted, and if they want to add an arrow/scroll support, it should be a button/icon next to the old style box.
