Zommoros just bugged me off because it gave me a Soulbound Medium armor piece to a Light armored character. I won’t tell the exact skin, but it is totally worthless no matter what.

To have this issue present in the back of my head anytime i go to the forge, scares me.

Has anyone stumbled into this?

Because in the list of possible random rewards are karma items. Karma items being character bound.

That’s not explaining the reasoning behind this though. I can feel the OP’s annoyance. If the character who gets the item can’t use it… well, they can’t sell it nor salvage it last I looked. They have the choice of junking it or throwing it in the forge again if they have three more items of the same grade… and once again risk getting a useless soulbound item for their efforts.

Gambling is not an effort. If you don’t wanna gamble your hard-earned items on the forge, don’t do it. But don’t call a conscious choice to gamble an effort.
