Why the decision to make so many weapons bland in their scabbards?

My Fiancée and I just crafted Firebringer after spending a couple of days collecting the resources for it. It is a lovely sword when it is drawn but when it is sheathed it looks terrible. Why was the decision made to remove particle effects when sheathed on some weapons but not on others?

For example, the corrupted and mist weapons have their particle effects when sheathed – but the destroyer and Firebringer weapons do not, yet the FDS does (but is only available to GW1 players). It is completely inconsistent.

My Fiancée now has one of the most expensive swords in the game and she hates it, but it is soul bound so she can’t even get her money back.
