Hey guys.. Was crafting the WupWup Spire (Staff) and after purchasing the recipe from the artificing merchant in LA, I consumed the staff recipe, then consumed the inscription recipe.. I have all the materials but the recipe for the inscription isn’t showing up in the crafting menu and it’s not discoverable. Only the staff recipe is showing.. In my past weapon crafting, I know to consume both recipes. So that isn’t the problem. I did check my inventory about 15 times as well, just to be sure. Any ideas ?

You said that you’re missing the inscription recipe, correct? Because ascended inscription recipes do not cost gold and laurels, they cost karma. The weapon recipes cost laurels. Maybe that’s where the problem lies?

Try logging out and back into the game.

Just tried it. No good. Was a great idea though. I’m a little disappointment that I didn’t think of that. lol.

If you’re looking to make the exotic celestial inscription that you need to make the wupwup ascended inscription, you need to buy that recipe from the TP. It’s fairly cheap, like a silver I think.

So I submitted 2 different bug reports. Do they ever get back to you ? Or is bug reporting just a way to pass the time ?

I get very quick service. Others say they get bad service. So… Not sure? Haha

I guess the only thing left to do in a situation like this would be to throw in the towel, sell anything that isn’t account bound, and stop trying silly things like crafting wupwup. Never had any problems with the zoja inscriptions but I wanted wupwup for ele

Are you level 500, I know other times in crafting if you are not close to the level it will not show up what you can craft etc at that level,

I just checked my Artificer and the WupWup inscription is there, it shouldn’t let you buy the same ascended inscription again as once its learnt on that char it should remember it.

Yea I’m level 500. Already crafted the rampagers ascended staff. And I’m thinking that if I try to repurchase the wupwup staff recipe, it will let me purchase it, but not use it.. Therefore, wasting 5 of my 9 laurels and 3 of my 7 gold It’s a waste either way honestly but that way would be like letting the artificer merchant kick me dead in my lips. lol

Hmm, searched online and can’t find where you buy it at.. And I’ve crafted 3 ascended weapons already.. My memory must be terrible

I have 12 characters so I think I forget most things that should be remembered

At the artificer merchant, in the Inscriptions tab. At the bottom of the list is a single Ascended Inscription bundle for 21k karma. Buy that, double click it and it gives you a list of all the inscriptions. Choose the one you want, and it gives you the recipe. Double click that to learn it.

I had the same exact identical bug happen to me, but it was back when ascended weapons 1st came out. It was really messed up, I even purchased the recipes a 2nd time but was unable to “consume” them since they were already consumed.

My recipes for the staff and inscription finally showed up several days later after a server reset, a patch, so I thought this was one of the things a-net fixed. However it appears they still haven’t.

My advice to you is as follows:

1. Go to the recipe vendor, when you move your cursor over the recipe in question, it should say “you already know this recipe” in red letters when the tooltip pops up.

2. Take clear and legible screenshots of any of such recipes and of your crafting section where the missing items should be, but arent, for example, top of the inscription or insignia section where they should be listed after consumption. Screenshot one should show the item you have already consumed, screenshot 2 should show it absent from the crafting list.

3. Submit a technical support ticket with the attached screenshots, at the very least they can reset it for you so you can consume them again properly. Also, post a thread with those screenshots in the technical support section.
