Xunlai Electrum Ingot
Those ingredients imply jewelcrafting. It doesn’t make sense for armorcrafting since armor crafters can’t make silver/gold/platinum ingots.
I honestly don’t see it, but I have a pretty good supply of refined silver, gold, and platinum as well as daily Mithrillium ready to go.
I wouldn’t mind if silver ore was worth mining again.
I’ve been speculating for months on Silver, Gold, and Platinum. I’m ready to go once that content is released.
Platinum is already pretty expensive comparatively, which is kind of surprising considering it’s easy to come by in higher level zones.

Its not very surprising that platinum is spiking because its used to craft not only platinum ingots for jeweller but also darksteel ingots for weapon/armorsmithing.

Same goes for Iron/Steel Ingots, but I think that Iron is probably less expensive given that Rich Iron Veins tend to offer a LOT of iron ore. (It’s not uncommon for me to get almost 20 iron ore from a single rich vein.) Plus, there are some good spots out in the world where you can find lots of iron nodes close together. Hit those one once a day and you can collect lots of iron fairly quickly.

i dont see there being an immediate use for these, but ive got a bit stocked up for when it does come out. silver especially is just dirt cheap, cant see it going lower.

I have some silver stocked up, but more gold. They will both go up eventually but I would have more issues gathering up gold than silver (this might just be my personal lack of knowledge of where to farm silver though).
Even more than gold/silver I would expect orbs to go up in price. Orbs are also at near NPC price for the most part so it’s a very safe bet.
I agree none of these will go down in price.

Iron/steel Ingots also arent used in jewelcrafting and iron can be promoted from copper.

Platinum makes Darksteel. Speculation is it will definitely be needed for armor-crafting ascended.

Iron is only required for 2 crafting professions
Platinum is used for 5 crafting professions: armoursmith, artificer, huntsman, weaponsmith and jeweler.
And both make two different kinds of materials (Iron/Steel and Platinum Ingots/Darksteel Ingots).
And I have the impression that the platinum levels are a lot less visited than the iron levels… (especially as iron is used in both T2 and T3 and thus has a larger range of maps in which it can be found).
Can find iron in the borderlands which certainly helps. Although you can find platinum in eb so…I don’t know if that’s a factor.

As somebody (correctly) pointed out to me, Iron is used for 4 profession… The same four as platinum, just not the jeweler… But the biggest difference still is that Platinum is all for T4 (for both varieties) and Iron is used for both T2 and T3 (Iron and Steel) and thus can be found in a much larger range of maps, 15-55 vs 55-65…

Iron is also used by jeweler but probably not as common.
Back when it was worth doing I made a bunch of http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Deldrimor_Ring_Replica while leveling my jeweler then forged everything.
Well, I’m not counting the recipes you can get from karma… Besides, you need to have crafted the iron ingots with another profession as the jeweler can’t craft it
