Can anyone tell me how I should go about making this item? Also, I’m not sure if I should make the ascended focus or just go for the legendary focus. The prices in gold look about the same. I’m the type of player that makes the gold then buys the materials I can

Legendary focus will cost a LOT more.

Once you level up artificer (which will costs anywhere between 100-200 gold for 400-500), it will only cost ~20-30 gold to make the focus.

I’m going to craft one eventually and transmute my Anomaly over top of it.

So i only need artificer to make it?

You only need artificer to 500 to be able to craft an ascended focus.

I’ve gotten weaponsmith to 500 and crafted a shield and will soon craft an axe and a sword.

I’ve gotten huntsman to 500 and crafted a longbow.

I’m at 465 with artificer and will eventually craft a focus and staff.

Getting the craft to 500 is the real cost. Once there, it is really only ~20-30 gold in materials for the weapon I believe.

It looks like everything but “Dragonite Ingot” is purchasable. I only have 120~ish dragon ore right now, how should I go about obtaining the rest at a quick speed?

You have to craft a Vision Crystal with 500 Dragonite Ore, 500 Empyreal Fragments and 500 Bloodstone Dust.

Dragonite ore is from temple chests in Orr, Megabosses, and Keeps and Castles in WvW.
Empyreal fragments are from dungeons, mini-dungeons, jumping puzzles and camps/towers in WvW.
Bloodstone Dust is from champ loot bags.

Collecting all the dragonite ore I need does not seem like a mild task to accomplish… I have empyreal fragments and bloodstone dust way past covered, it’s just that dang dragonite ore… How do I farm it? Getting it every now and then will not be cool…

I’m impressed you’ve managed to get 500 emp fragments without trying! That was the one thing that took time with me.

As for the dragonite, do temples and world bosses. Temples seem to give the most, plus they’re a bit more entertaining (aside from the sodding Lyssa gorilla shudders)

Temple events give 30 dragonite per day per character (each, so with just visiting the 3 easy ones it’s already 90 dragonite per day). Claw, Shatterer and Golem give 15-25 dragonites in their daily chest. Other world bosses give a varied amount, with those in low level zones (fire elemental, Maw) giving the least (only few pieces).
