So, I had a whole bunch of crafted jewelery that piled up on my run to 400 and I decided to pitch it in the mystic forge and see what happened.

Nothing. Twice.

Can you not promote crafted jewelery in the forge? It was all level 75-80 Fine quality stuff. I know you can put that type of thing in because I always drop my junk loot into the forge just to see what pops out. I also know you can include jewelery because I’ve dropped in looted jewelery. I also know you can use crafted items because I’ve bought cheap ones on the TP before if I was one short.

The wiki article and posts from people who experiment and whatnot don’t seem to be clear on this. Is it always possible to get nothing back or is it something with what I put in?

Certain categories of items bug out often when trying to promote them in the forge. From what I recall seeing here on the forums, swords and jewelry in particular are very susceptible to this bug.

There was a developer post a while ago mentioning that this was not intended and a perma-fix was in the works, but we have no clue as to when it will be done.

right now I am only seeing a 12-14 percent return rate on upgrading an item… So your 2 times isn’t squat. I run hundreds through the forge daily.

Zommoros must have 4x more stuff than everybody else in the game.

So it IS supposed to be possible to put things in the forge and get nothing back? Because I’m not talking about getting some useless garbage back, I mean I got literally nothing. No item, no animation and no message. It just got sucked up like normal and then that was it.

It’s a known bug that usually affects accessories/amulets/rings. It happened to me too not that long ago, and I hope they fix it soon.

It’s not supposed to be possible. I think Shodori misunderstood your post. The rate most people agree on is about a 20% chance to upgrade the rarity, and 80% to be returned an item of the same rarity. In that case, Shodori’s rather unlucky.

If Shodori’s actually receiving something only 12-14% of the time, he/she must be forging lots of swords and jewelry :/

Yeah i misuderstood because he started talking about promotion of items. If you are not recieving anything at all back then that is a bug.

When you said you got nothing back i assumed you were saying all you got a junk back and not a free upgrade. Like every 4 rares you put in you got an exo out.

My percentage was my actual promotion upgrade percentage and its well below 20 percent now
